I used the Boppy for 3 days and found myself in a lactation consultant's office in TEARS when my baby was 3 days old and literally starving because she couldn't latch on properly. The lactation consultant showed me the My Brest friend and it was the first time my daughter ever latched on and ate in 3 days. The Boppy is flimsy, fell off my lap, my back hurt, my arms were aching from trying to hold my daugther up, hold the pillow up, keep her properly positioned, etc. Every time my baby would latch on, the Boppy would slip, she'd start crying and we'd both get frustrated. One minute with the My Brest Friend and my daughter breast-fed like a champ. I've purchased this pillow for EVERY shower gift since my daughter's birth and would buy 9 million more to avoid those first few days. YOU MUST get this pillow if you plan to breastfeed.Customer Review: The ONLY breastfeeding pillow you will ever need!

This pillow is wonderful! It has a nice firm support that is comfortable for the baby, but not too comfortable for them to fall asleep halfway through feeding. It is nice how it straps onto you so that you can move about. You don't have to fiddle around and keep readjusting this pillow, like many others---this one actually stays in place. The only thing I don't like is the little "pillow supports" that are on the pillow. I have an infant and the pillow suports just shift his head around because he can't adjust his neck. But I just position him below the supports and they will come in handy when he's a little older.
This is the ONLY pillow you will ever need, don't even bother looking at the boppy or other pillows. This is well worth the money, and your comfort (it supports your back with a nice firm cushion)!

I brought this with me to the hospital and am so glad I did. Right from the beginning I used it to nurse my newborn. All the lactation consultants on staff applauded my choice of breastfeeding pillow. The fact that it straps onto my body makes it very secure - I can actually walk with my baby still nursing (holding both the baby and the pillow for safety). I have the new model with the clip instead of velcro, so I haven't had the noise problems that others have had. I also find I'm pretty maneuverable in the pillow, so I don't have to take it off to lay my baby down in the cradle or bouncy seat after a feeding. I've machine washed and dried the removable cover with no shrinkage problems. Overall, this is one of the most useful items I have for my baby, and I recommend it with no reservations.Customer Review: love my boppy instead

I guess I am one of the few people who don't love this nursing pillow. Perhaps it is b/c I used a boppy three years ago with my first child. I purchased this one thinking it would be helpful to be attached to me while I cared for my three year old and infant. I kept knocking into my three year old with the pillow! My infant couldn't get comfy at all on this pillow while nursing. The one thing I did like about it is the storage compartment (pocket) for different things.
I bought this b/c my boppy seemed to be a little saggy and had seen better days. But in the end, I returned this and bought a new cover (which I know it doesn't really matter, but personally I think the covers are much nicer (pattern wise, etc.) for the boppy) for my original boppy and it is working great.

I just had my first child and therefore this is my first breastfeeding experience. I intially got the Boppy because I thought it looked so comfortable. That's where I made my mistake you do not want the baby to be too comfortable when breastfeeding which is why my brest friend pillow is ideal. The hard suface with a raised bump on each side for babies head forces your infant to concerntrate on feeding. I almost gave up after the first week and told my husband not to buy this pillow as I thought it would be another gimick..well buying it is the best thing he did and almost immediately I was able to breastfeed without the pain and soreness I had with the Boppy. It also forces you to sit up as there is a back support. I highly reccommend this pillow to any first time breastfedding moms!
