Baby Products Reviews of my best friend Inflatable breast feeding pillow

Customer Review: Do give it a try.
Summary: 4 Stars

What I liked:
Firm and has kept it's shape. Provides support for the back. Like the pocket. Great for just having baby sleep in one's lap while reading a book. Simple to adjust the straps.

What I didn't like:
Could only use it in the cradle-hold position. Had to use pillows for all other positions. Depending on your body's proportions, you still might need a pillow placed under My Breast Friend to bring the baby high enough to the level of your breasts - I did.

Great for use while sitting in the bed, on the floor or in a nursing chair but not in a regular recliner/lazyboy - the front slopes up because of the chair's incline.

Why the four stars: Overall, would buy it again even though a bit pricey. I had the navy-blue fabric with white flowers - the color bleeds a fair amount initially, beware!

Take it to the hospital with you. And if this is your first time, please see a Lactation Consultant/attend a local La Leche League meeting.

Customer Review: Nice but not convenient
Summary: 3 Stars

With my first child, I used a "bone shaped" nursing pillow that I loved. Unfortunately, after 2 years of use, it couldn't be saved for my second child who came a few years after that.

As my son is tongue tied, nursing has been difficult for him. The lactation consultant had me try several different pillows in her office to find the one that gave me the most comfort and him the best position. This pillow was it. It works very well for us.

My big complaint is that it is not at all convenient to use. I find it cumbersome to put on and to transport. Perhaps I was just spoiled by my first pillow which was very compact with no need for adjusting anything.

Another problem I have is the noise of the velcro. It scared the heck out of my newborn. Obviously, velcro makes noise and nothing can be done about that. It's very annoying though to have to "work" the velcro closure apart slowly for fear of making my little guy jump.

Customer Review: Great design for comfort!
Summary: 5 Stars

For my second child, I decided to invest in this nursing pillow because the shape seemed so thoughtful. It looked comfortable for mom and baby and it did not disappoint. I was always able to position the baby perfectly for nursing. The pillow was not overstuffed, lumpy, or flimsy. The back support was an extra bonus for mom, since I was sitting so long and used the pillow in several different places (chair, sofa, bed). I was able to take the pillow on and off with one hand, and appreciated its adjustible strap once the postpartum pounds started to drop off.

I almost deducted one star because it comes only in one pattern and was a bit overpriced. However, I had to add it back because the removable cover washed easily, and did not shrink or fade. Additionally, the pillow is worth every penny to help a new mother nurse her baby with ease.

Definitely give this pillow a look when making out your registry or doing your baby essentials shopping!!!

Customer Review: Extremely useful item
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this nursing pillow, in fact much more than I expected to. I got it as a gift and assumed I'd use it for a few weeks until I got the hang of nursing, but I use it all the time (my baby is two mos. old now). It's great for all sorts of positions: sitting, leaning up in bed, or even sitting at the dinner time and propping the pillow up on the corner of the table. It's easier than holding your infact at the right level all the time (which is important to avoid painful breastfeeding issues). I have not used the boppy pillow so I can't compare, but I imagine this is much more useful b/c you can strap it on and it gives much more support to your infant than just a pillow that sits in the front.

Pros: comfortable to wear. Easy to clean. Useful in many different positions.
Cons: Silly name! And it's large, so you wouldn't take it with you if you were going out shopping with your baby, though certainly if I were going on a trip I would pack it.

Customer Review: Great Product!
Summary: 5 Stars

I LOVE this nursing pillow. It is wider and flatter than the Boppy, providing a better surface for the baby to lay on. It provides back support, which is especially nice if you are nursing in bed late at night. Although it wouldn't be a good idea to do too much walking around with the baby on the pillow, you can get the baby over to the crib and transfered with much less disruption. The strap is adjustable, so it works nicely for people of all shapes and sizes. The newer model has a clip closure - an improvement to cure the noisey Velcro problem. I have the inflatable version... although it would be too much work to bring it everywhere (inflating & re-covering takes some time), it's nice for long trips. Also, when you take the cover off to wash, it is easy to clean the actual pillow with just a damp cloth (on inflatable model). My baby also likes sitting/laying in it better than the Boppy - I guess he likes to put his feet up. :)
