Hi all, I ordered this pillow two days before I delivered and by the time it came in I was almost pouncing on the door every time I heard someone outside. What a life saver!! Breastfeeding was so stressful at the hospital trying to use all those pillows. After using my brest friend I plan on bringing it to the hospital for any friend wanting to try breastfeeding. It lets you focus on you and the baby and eliminates the need to hold the baby up which is tough in the beginning due to fatigue and lack of experience. No sliding off of the breast once you get your ravenous and rooting baby latched on!! And when they do pull off in their feeding frenzy you have one hand to hold your nipple/breast and the other to guide their head to it. With my little guy it was definitely a two-handed process until he was almost a month. He goes a little nuts when he's hungry. The only reason it didn't get five stars from me was that I found when sitting that if I didn't put a pillow behind my back that the part of the pillow that wraps around behind jabbed into my back when I sat all the way back in the chair. Very uncomfortable when you're trying to relax. Overall though the best things on the market. This is the way to go.Customer Review: The best thing to buy if you are breastfeeding!

All I have to say about this product is WOW. I started out not knowing about the brest friend. I had two boppies. The boppy seems like it would be fine but once you are using it, you realize that you're bending over your baby all the time because the boppy is sliding forward. It is hard on your lower back and when you are feeding the baby almost all day and night at first, it can really take a toll on your back.
I got the brest friend at a lactation class (they always seem to have them there and not the boppies) and never looked back! I now own two.. one for the house and one for the car. The car one fits perfectly on the handles of the stroller in case I am in the mall and I need to feed her. She is almost seven months now and I am still using it every time I feed her. It is definitely worth the money!
They have some cute other styles now including one with hearts and another with fairies. Get this pillow before you have the baby and then take it to the hospital with you. You can use it with the plastic on until you are certain that you will be able to breastfeed. This way, if it doesn't work out (low supply or other issues) you can take it back! =o)

This pillow made breastfeeding noticeably easier for me. I was set on using a Bobby from my sister, but decided at the last minute to get this. I wanted to try it right away, but when I got home from the hospital I couldn't. I had gained so much weight with my pregnancy that it wouldn't fit around my waist - even with the straps pulled all the way out! That'll destroy any shred of good body image you have left!!! So I struggled with pillows and positioning.
After 2 or 3 weeks it did fit, and what a difference! This pillow positioned her perfectly. FINALLY, I was done with the stress, the neck pain, the backache! I didn't even realize how tired my arms had been getting from trying to hold her in a good position until I didn't have to.
Don't let your mother, sister, lactation consultant - whoever - tell you that propping the baby up with pillows is just the same. That may be fine in bed or on the couch, but when you're struggling to stay awake in the rocking chair at night, a nice wide, flat nursing pillow is a huge help. Besides, breastfeeding can be difficult enough. Spend the extra money and make it a little easier on yourself.

This pillow is terrific. I wish I'd had it from the very beginning! I found it when my daughter was 8 weeks old and never touched my Boppy again except to prop my daughter up when she was learning to sit up.
The strap that goes around your waist is the key. It holds the pillow up next to you so that the baby doesn't slip down between you and the pillow. When you are nursing, the baby tends to slip down slowly, and my the time you relize it, the baby is on your lap with the pillow behind her and you are hunched over and sore. If you're a taller mom, you know how difficult it is to find products that can adapt to your height. I had to put a flattened pillow under the My Breast Friend to keep it to the right height better, but that was such a small price to pay! I loved that the pillow stayed where I wanted it.
I am not sure if there are additional pillow cases available for the My Breast Friend, but if there are, I think it's agreat tidea to get one. It's a little tricky to get the cover off and on again, but again, small price to pay for the benefits this pillow offers.
Enjoy nursing! It goes by so fast!!!!

I am on my 5th pregnancy and I know how your shoulder blades begin to burn in agony when breastfeeding. It can 'almost' ruin the whole experience!
I found my 'best friend' at a consignment shop.
This will duplicate one other review, but here is a list of pros for buying this over ANY other nursing pillow.
1. The velcro strap holds in place!
You can therefore,
a. with one hand on baby, get up and get the phone, eat to the side (nothing hot), write, etc.
b. baby never falls between your body and the pillow.
c. Back support is FIRM, no 'hunching'.
d. Adjustable to size, larger breasts? Lower the pillow. Smaller? Secure right under breasts.
2. Removable zipper cover is awesome after so many spit ups!
I just LOVE this pillow. That ache was GONE after my first use with it. I love the name because of that! My real best friend doesn't care for the name though :) But if she has another baby and uses it, she won't care!
I have absolutely told EVERYONE about this pillow and will always buy it for baby showers!
