For over two decades i play., Inc. has been researching children's health issues to make safer feeding accessories that come in contact with babies' mouths and foods. Due to recent safety issues in children's toys we saw a need for toys free from potentially harmful toxins. So in 2008 we launched a new line of PVC, phthalate, BPA and nitrosamine free toys made from materials. Inside Baby: Pregnancy and early childhood are critical times in babies' lives because they are growing and developing so rapidly. During this time they are vulnerable to elements in their environment, and parents should protect them as much as possible from exposure to potentially harmful substances. Well, many of you seem to complain about features that are not make or kill to me. Though would definitely would have preferred them not be made in china.
My husband bought this set for my son. My friends child took to them immediately. They asked me where we got them.
This are the features I value about this item (not in any particular order)
-they are small, rounded edges and not heavy, great for little hands, and travel/they pack nice.
-easily picked-up
-aid in hand coordination by placing a smaller cup inside a larger cup (reverse stacking)
-the bottom of each cup has a design- so you can play memory games with them as well, learn to pair, recognize shapes and patterns, relationships and size.
-at the right age (for the child) they can be stacked on an appropriate surface
-non breakable
-non toxic
-teaches colors and shade nuances (give your baby credit, they are able to handle shade differences, if you teach them) Orange, peach, salmon (blue, lavender, purple)-- really not important. Pick a color and stick to it. We all see shades and colors differently anyway. I also do not like to pigeon hole my son into gender specific colors. When learning, all shades, shapes and colors are welcome.
-has drain holes for the bath
and most importantly, my son likes them. He is 8mo old. He is currently interested in chewing, holding, practicing his finger hand coordination. As he grows we'll incorporate stacking, color/shade recognition, memory, patter identification, matching, sizing and other great developmental and fun activities that can be achieved with them.
