Baby Products Reviews of bumGenius One-Size Cloth Diaper BlossomCustomer Review: Easy way to Save money and Save the earth! Summary: 5 Stars
I have switched to cloth diapering with this brand and have never looked back to disposables. The bumGenius 3.0 One-Size diapers are a no-brainer. They are far more cost-effective, easy to use and wash, and above all, better for your child and the planet! You will spend approximately $200 to invest in enough diapers (because this kind can be used from birth - 3yrs). However, if you add up what you spend on disposables and wipes throughout your child's first 3 years (until potty-training), it comes to more than $2,000. WOW! Plus, of course with these cloth diapers they will last and last so that you can use them for future children... thereby making them that much more economical in the long-run. Also they are much better on baby's bottom with the natural materials... no need for rash creams or lotions or powders. Also you should get the flannel or velour cloth wipes, they are a must-pair item.
I have 20 but wash 12-15 by doing laundry every other day. I think they will last longer by having more in rotation.
Also I should mention that since my 18 mo-old has been watching me put the poop in the toilet each time after a change, she is already potty-training, having pooped on the potty at 17 mos! So I think it helps with the child being more aware of bodily functions and their proper place.
These diapers are easy to clean, however you have to follow the manufacturer's guide to the acceptable laundry detergents or you could find the diapers less absorbent and leaky. I used Purex Free and Clear, it's the cheapest, and it works great too except they still smell. All of the Free & Clear detergents are no good. I switched to Charlie's Soap which is the recommendation of all of the cloth diaper websites and it is MUCH better and all natural.
Your diapers will wear out faster if you wash more frequently and dry in a dryer, instead of outside on a clothesline (which is preferable). And they will STINK if you use the wrong kind of detergent as well. Pay attention to that and they will last you through your next child as expected.
Also I highly recommend getting a diaper sprayer from bumGenius as well. It is worth the $40 just to have the poop sprayed off into the toilet. No Mess and easy to install.
I am so happy never to have to buy or throw out disposable diapers EVER again!
These are awesome and even my husband can use them... try them, you won't be disappointed.
I wish they were sold in stores!!!!
Customer Review: Great diaper for younger babies Summary: 4 Stars
I was tired of spending money on diapers so I bought 12 of these diapers to use on my 2 kids (8 months old and 25 months old). A little costly, but I did the math and figured that in 3 months I would have broken even by buying disposable diapers, and would save over $1500 with my youngest by the time she is potty-trained.
Although they are one-size-fits-all, my 29 pound 2 year old leaks through in less than 2 hours. They are also MUCH bulkier than disposables.
However, my 8 month old (with very sensitive skin) has had virtually no diaper rash or irritation with these diapers, and they are so soft!
I would not recommend buying these diapers for 2+ year old children.
Customer Review: great but wet clothes Summary: 3 Stars
The only problem I have had with these diapers is that the micro-sued wicking fabric on the inside comes in contact with my baby's onsie at the leg. The way the seem between the water proof outer and the moisture wicking in side is placed so that it comes in contact with the baby's clothing meaning wet clothes EVERY time. I asked a friend if she had this same problem. She said she does and just has to put larger clothing on her daughter so it doesn't touch the diaper around the leg. Fuzzibunz has the seem placed so that only the water proof outer comes in contact with baby's clothes, so if you are having this same problem you could try fuzzibunz.
Customer Review: Best cloth diapers Summary: 5 Stars
These are my go-to diapers for my 3-month old son. I started using these about 6-weeks ago, when we first got them. I love that they do not need a cover. The outer layer is waterproof and sturdy. The inner liner is soft and way absorbent--I can use them overnight and not worry about changing if they are just wet. It's really not a big deal to pull out the liner. They dry in one dry cycle, which is easier on our electric bill than other cloth diapers we use. Not too bulky, and look so cute! The best part is that they are one-size and grow with your child, so you never have to size up! Totally worth the $$.
Customer Review: Wish I'd tried these sooner! Summary: 5 Stars
I love, love, love these diapers! Oh, how I wish I would have tried them sooner. These were for child #4. This was my first time to try cloth diapers. I had been looking at buying these while I was pregnant, but was afraid they would be too much work. They are so much easier than I thought they would be. They are adorable to look at. They clean up so easily. No staining, no smell. I recommend washing every other day to keep from having problems with smells. Only problem is they might run a little small for really chunky legs. Can't think of an easier way to start cloth diapering.
