I bought this primarily to use as a hand held bidet. I thought I also may use it in the future to rinse out my son's training potty when he starts using one.
Installation was easy. I was able to bend my existing supply line into an 'S' so I didn't need to get a new one but a new one is only like $5 so not a big deal either way. I have had no problem with leaks as mentioned in another review. Just to be safe I used plumber's tape on the threads. It looks nice, comes with a bracket to hang on your toilet so it's always handy.
As a bidet, it's not bad. I like the long neck and the position of the button. I wish it had a central stream to make it easier to 'hit the target' but otherwise it works fine. Yes the water will become quite cold but the first several seconds of water is room temperature because the water was sitting in your pipes. If you flush your toilet first or keep the sprayer running beyond several seconds the water will become cold but I haven't found it to be a problem, it's rather refreshing. Well worth it to feel clean. Using it is all about technique, you just have to position it and yourself properly. I found that going in from the front caused some water to shoot out the back of the toilet between the seat and the rim. So now I just scooch forward on the seat and go in with the sprayer from behind. No mess, no leaks. It's not only good for bowel movements but for feeling clean during that time of the month.
As a sprayer, we don't use cloth diapers but I have used it to rinse off poo in his pants that escaped his diaper. The few times I've used it to spray something off you just have to be sure to angle it right and hold it low into the toilet to avoid spray splashing about. With forethought and practice it shouldn't be a problem. I mean what are your other options really? Take it outside and use a hose on it? Contaminate your sink? This is really much better.
