These diapers are fantastic. We bought the 20 pack and started using them when my son was 2 months old. With the disposables, we would have to change his clothes 3-4 times a day from poopy blow out disasters. (very frustrating) So once we started the bumgenius diapers, we havent had ANY blowouts. there were a lot of times I would change him and think, wow.. if this would have been a disposable it would have been a nightmare. They also hold a lot more pee than disposables. We live in an apartment with the laundry room not in our apartment but on the same floor and I do wish we had in house W&D but it's not as bad as you would think. It is annoying having to pay for it every time but we are doing it mostly for the environment, so it's worth it to me. The thought of on average 7,000 diapers per baby sitting at a dumb somewhere makes me nauseous. You have to make sure and put the velcro tabs down before you wash them to preserve them, but once you have your own system down, it's a breeze. We have 2 planet wise diaper pail liners and we take the liner out of the pail with all the diapers in it, turn it upside down in the washer and wash it all once on cold and once on hot and line dry them. With these diapers, you NEVER have to touch anything gross! We have 20 and baby is 11 months old now and we wash them every 3-4 days. If we had a few more it would be nice, but the 20 pack works fine.
When he was littler and had messy poops, we didn't rinse them out at all before. We just shook the liner out of the diaper and threw them all in together along with our cloth wipes and everything comes out just as clean as they would with no poop. (I know, sounds gross. But they really do come out very clean) Every once in a while I thought they still smelled a little so I would give them an extra wash and rinse and that would do the trick. When we have babysitters, we tell them to leave the diapers sitting there and we "pail" them when we get home.
I would challenge any negative review on this product! If you have doubts about something, do some research and find that there is probably a solution!
