Baby Products Reviews of bumGenius 3.0 One-Size Cloth DiaperCustomer Review: Great diaper, but one size may not fit all! Summary: 4 Stars
After reading reviews, these were one of the first cloth diapers I decided to give a trial run. They are soft, well made, and have a great color selection. I also liked that they came with the insert that you can snap to double it up on one end. I have a little boy, and this is wonderful for putting extra absorbancy where needed. They line dry great. I have washed them every night since buying them and there is no noticable wear thus far. On the negative side, I have a rather chunky 9 month old (24 lbs and carries most of his weight in the thigh area), and this diaper barely fits him. It is a little short through the rise, so when I stretch it for a better fit, it is pretty tight on his legs. This would not be a problem in a child with thinner legs, however, so I just want those with bigger babies to be aware.
Customer Review: They really are genius! Summary: 5 Stars
We switched to cloth diapering after discovering how bad disposables are - on several levels. I researched for 2 weeks before choosing bumGenius! AIO, one size diapers. We could not be happier with our choice (my husband too!). We have only had one leak at night - after 9 hours of sleep, with a doubler), and it was tiny. The inner layer wicks moisture away from baby's bottom, even after overnight usage. The diaper fits snuggly, and the velcro makes it more like disposables. They are slightly bulkier, but you can't tell under clothes. We have been using the Trader Joe's Next to Godliness detergent (only $8.50/80 loads, or 160 loads in a HE washer), and there are no stains or smells.
We have told many people about these diapers, and they are trying them too!
Customer Review: Review of PRODUCT DESCRIPTION, not product. Summary: 3 Stars
I'm reviewing the product description not the product because I've found the product description is confusing. This product is listed as a bumGenius 2.0 one-size cloth diaper. However, I believe that the 2.0s are AIO (all in one) diapers and are sized diapers. The bumGenius 3.0 diapers are pocket diapers with inserts and are made so that one size fits all. This product is a pocket diaper designed to fit all. Is this product mislabeled? Perhaps it is really a bumGenius 3.0? This needs to be addressed! Also, please note that many other websites offer this diaper for the same price with two pocket inserts, not just one. So make note of this if you don't want to fork out the extra $3 for the newborn insert that should come with this diaper on amazon.com but doesn't.
Customer Review: A soft, comfortable diaper that is parent friendly! Summary: 5 Stars
You may be asking yourself, disposable or cloth? These are soft, comfortable and easy to use. I don't suggest using the paper liners (bought seperately) with these on your newborn because he may get a rash. As least that was my experience. These diapers used by themselves are wonderful. As far as being greener and saving money...I hope so. However, that is to be determined. I was washing two extra loads of laundry a day. I wash the diapers twice, first on cold soak, then on hot wash. Imagine, 60 extra loads of laundry a month! I now wash them every other day, which is better. I know I don't have bags full of disposable diapers every week for the garbage man. Anyway, I like these diapers much better than the disposables I used on my other children.
Customer Review: Convenient and Durable Summary: 5 Stars
Our baby boy, now 6 months old, has been using BG since he was a newborn. He was 6.14 lbs when born and the BG were too large, but at 2 weeks old they started fitting. We have tried two other brands of One-size/all-in-ones, and the BG 3.0 are our favorite. We use Woolite for He machines, occasionally adding bleach, and have had no build-up or foul smells. We are line-drying exclusively. After 6 months of daily use, they have held up great. Velcros look worn, but work perfectly. One drawback: Baby has learned to pull the diaper open. Fortunately, he doesn't do it all the time. (Guess this is something babies who wear disposables would do as well.) When baby starts pulling his diaper, we dress him with a onesie or other type of clothing.
