I recieved one of the "one size" bumGenius diapers with two microfiber inserts as a baby shower gift. My husband and I liked that one so much that we bought two more in different colors. These diapers are SOFT and don't chaffe my son's little tuschie. Also, the snaps down the front and extra velcro on the sides make the trasition from tiny-tuschie to bigger tuschie easy. I didn't have to go out and buy more diapers every time he grew in size. Also, they wash reaaaalyy well. If he got poo on them, I just sprayed with OXY before washing (I didn't even rinse them) and they look like new, no stains. They also do a great job with keeping my son's "blowouts" down to almost none. The only drawback to these diapers is that if I don't change the inserts frequently enough, he'll pee right through them. The shell will stay dry on the outside, but the inner lining will get wet, which means I have to put on a new insert and a new shell. They are also a little bulky for travelling. When we use the plane, we just pack regular diapers to save space. But, for hanging around the house, or running errands around town, these diapers are BY FAR the best. I highly recommend investing in several. The more you have, the easier it is. They pay for themselves after a month.

These are the best cloth diapers. I've tried so many. Others that are good are Motherease one size all in ones, but those are not NEARLY as absorbent as the BG. My daughter pees A LOT and almost never, ever leaks with the BG, but she did with Bumkins, motherease, happy heineys (these were the worst) and several other kinds.
SOmetimes, though, they will start to smell like ammonia. That's when you have to "strip" the diapers which means you wash on cold, and then on hot with 1/4 c. of bleach and several drops of DAWN detergent, and then on hot again without detergent. Double rise each time. I find that I do this once a month and the diapers work best and don't smell at all. Line dry is best.
Also, you should really buy the diaper liners since they keep the poop all together-- and make things easier. Don't forget NOT to rise or wet your dirty diapers-- and the poop and pee and everything just goes into the washing machine (well, except for the poop filled flushable liners)....
These are really easy to use... kind of a pain to stuff, but stuffing the diapers is a lot LESS of a pain than having your kid leak pee and pee-poop slop all over her or his clothes! Buy them and you won't be disappointed.

When I first got these I absolutely loved them. I recommended them to everyone. I've had them now for 7 months and have used them 75% of the time. So they've been washed several times. I love how they are adjustable and easy to clean and I dont' have to buy several different sizes. But the one big drawback is that the velcro eventually gets scratchy and has left red marks and scratches on my son's skin because while he's crawling and playing the top tends to bend over and the velcro and tabs rub against his skin. Also, the tabs don't stick as well after awhile. I have followed the directions to fix that and it doesn't work. I have mostly BumGenius diapers but have two FuzziBunz and two Happy Heiny's. I don't recommend the Happy Heiny's because of the velcro but I love the Fuzzi Bunz even though they are not One size fits all. But the snaps are great because they will never get scratchy and the inside of the diapers are so soft. If I were to do it over, I would get all Fuzzi Bunz or diapers like them with the snaps. However, I do like the BumGenius inserts better. You can use those with any diaper. I do wish that all the diapers had a wider elastic band in the back though. I am so excited about this product! I have 6 month old son and we have been using bumGenius for a month now. I have been wanting to purchase these since before he was born but we were given so many disposables I didn't want to waste them. My biggest problem was every day at least once a day my son would have a "blow out!" It was awful (especially if we were out running errands) Ever since we started bumGenius we haven't had a leak! I started with using the infant insert at night since everyone seems to recommend it but I have realized that for my son, we don't need to double up. They are adorable and everyone I show the diapers too are so impressed they want to switch too. I use the biokleen bac-out spray on all the diapers for smell and I bleach out the inserts every couple loads to get rid of stains. I have the bumGenius sprayer but I don't seem to use it very often (we aren't really doing solids yet) We use about 7 diapers a day so I have 8 white and 6 green and I do laundry every other day. I have to say overall I am well impressed. I love that I never have to get another diaper. I plan on using these with my next child as well.

I wanted to use cloth diapers for two reasons the saving of money and also the reduction of waste. I have used fitted diapers as well as these and love these by far. I have found them easier than I thought and not half as gross either. They have contained my little ones many explosions very well, even better than some of the disposables I have used. I have found them very easy to wash and are no more extra work than an extra load of washing every couple of days. I have 18 in different colours for me that is enough. I also live in an apartment and so I found it a real pain buying disposables and carry them up and then disposing them once used. I would encourage everyone to give these a go. And since they are one size fits all with the snaps you never have to buy any more and are very economic. They also become more economic the more children you use them on. They come with 2 inserts which I have found enough for my needs. I had one defective snap on an insert and got a replacement sent very quickly from the makers of Bum Genius. So even the customer service is great. I really can't say enough great things.
