Baby Products Reviews of Wide Neck Glass Bottle (1 Bottle Only) 9 Ounces

Customer Review: Overall Very Satisfied
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased these to avoid chemicals in plastic bottles. I've had them for well over a year, using on a daily basis. I have experienced some fading of the markings, and I attribute that to minimal dishwasher use - prob worse if put in dishwasher often. As the child gets older, those markings are less important.
Washing: not terrible, especially compared to all the components in Dr. Brown's bottles! I have noticed from time to time that the hard plastic vent piece will get some growth in the holes. I make a point to use the bottle brush and get in those holes or wash or soak the pieces quickly (not leave sitting overnight).
Nipples: I had Avent and used those nipples, which do fit. But, the Born Free nipples work better! It leaked often with the Avent and now with the proper nipples, it almost never leaks.
Overall quite satisfied with these bottles.

Customer Review: Love love LOVE these bottles!
Summary: 5 Stars

These bottles are wonderful! My daughter doesn't have a hard time with the nipple for them and the ventilation system does actually work well. As far as people saying the measurements come off in the dishwasher, I don't know because I wash mine by hand, which only takes a minute. But even if you HAVE to put yours in the dishwasher isn't it worth the risk of losing the numbers to know your child isn't ingesting any BPA? But the bottles are very durable, surprisingly lightweight, and they don't absorb that nasty formula smell either. The glass cleans up so much nicer than plastic. Spend the extra money! Why waste ten bucks on bottles you aren't going to be happy with? These are every bit as convenient as plastic bottles and safer too!

Customer Review: fading away
Summary: 2 Stars

We bought 6 of these bottles for our twins and had the same problem with fading after a few weeks in the diashwasher. After 8 weeks the writing is all gone and we have taken to marking off 5 oz line with a sharpie every few washes. We also bought some of the born free plastic bottles and the writing is very permanent on those. They are also significantly lighter than the glass as you might expect and for both these reasons we use the glass now only when all the others are dirty. The glass is a nice idea in theory, but like cloth diapers, the reality of using them day to day is a different story.

Customer Review: Measurement marking issue resolved
Summary: 4 Stars

BornFree has resolved the issue with markings that wash off by now making bottles that have the markings molded into the glass. I was very pleased to see this. Still, I prefer the Evenflo glass bottles which are much cheaper. They have the added benefit of attaching directly to the Medela pump so I don't have to pump or store in plastic bottles. I only tried the BornFree to see if my baby would like to eat better from the wider nipple. No luck so far.

Customer Review: The important stuff...
Summary: 5 Stars

As far as I am concerned, these bottles are great. I have had no trouble with markings coming off, and even if they do, I would rather have NO HARSH CHEMICALS anywhere my baby than an attractive bottle! My baby likes the nurser style nipples, as she is breastfed, so the transition is no problem. I am purchasing another one today, actually.
