Baby Products Reviews of Wheelie Car Seat Carrier - Black by JL ChildressCustomer Review: Liked it. Buying another one. Summary: 4 StarsThis is great. It's so handy and much easier to use than lugging the carseat without it. The problems are the same as what everyone else says:
-Could use some padding/thicker for protection. But that's not really what it's supposed to be for.
-Hard to pull for anyone over about 5'6". I can pull it okay but my husband has to hunch over to reach the handle.
-Would be better with four wheels. You have to really have it tipped down for it to maneuver properly. I think if the wheels swiveled it wouldn't be so bad.
I still think this is the best one on the market so far.
Edit: I just saw that they have made a new one for $4 more that has a handle extension and a shoulder strap so they have corrected one of the problems...
Customer Review: Great Car Seat Cover Summary: 4 StarsThis is a great, durable car seat cover for any type of travel. The materal is of heavy duty fabric which will stand up to alot of abuse. They are a little tricky to pull through the airports as they do have only two wheels and have their own way of going in a different direction at times. It seems the faster one goes, this happens, especially if one is pulling two of them. But--they really are great car seat covers and protect the child's seat.
Customer Review: Nice Bag! Summary: 5 StarsWe just completed our first plane trip with 2 kids ages 2.5 and 7 months and this bag was key to the whole thing "rolling" along smoothly. Traveling with one kid was pretty easy, but with 2 little ones you need all the help you can get and this bag helped a lot.
We just attached the hand strap to a rolling suitcase and it whipped along through the airport like a rocket sled on wheels. We curbside/counter checked this bag, why people would be carrying on a car seat or gate checking this most awkward item I don't understand. Why schlep extra luggage to the plane when they pay tough baggage people to do this for you?
Anyway, the quality is just fine, it does not need to last forever, just a few trips. Car seats are pretty tough too, so padding is not necessary. The bag works great!
UPDATE: Just completed another trip with this bag and it's still going strong. To move around the baggage claim area we were able to attach this bag to a rolling suitcase and then use a carabiner to hang a second car seat in a non-rolling bag on top. What a contraption!
But it worked just fine, the seats are not that heavy so it was pretty manageable and got us where we needed to go.
Again I am amazed people are gate checking full size "big kid" car seats. Why even bother taking them security? Just curbside the darn things, it's free and easy, and then you only have to deal with them at the baggage claim.
We gate check a small stroller and that's it.
Customer Review: It does its job Summary: 3 StarsNo complaints since it did its job. The bag protected the car seat from dirt and handled pretty well. Just can be a hassle to take off the bag when going through security. Good for the occasional traveler. Would be even better if there were padding to really protect the car seat.
Customer Review: Crappy bag Summary: 1 StarsI'm really disappointed- The first time we used it rips appeared on the bottom of the bag sometime during the first leg of the flight. By the third leg of the trip the wheels and bar at the bottom ripped off as we were walking it out of the airport so we had no choice but to use the strap which was really awkward given the size and shape (and, as another review said, it hits your legs repeatedly and is hard to carry if you have another bag to wheel/carry too). Carrying it resulted in the tears at the bottom of the bag worsening making it completely unusable evn with massive amounts of duct tape. We had checked this bag at the gate for flights and it sat in our rental car otherwise so it wasn't that we abused it or overused it- It's a complete waste of money! Should've purchased the backpack version, at least then we could've put it on our back when the wheels came off.
