Customer Review: Great mesh shade, a little hard to access baby in car

I bought this product looking for something to protect my babies from 1)people trying to touch them (germs!), to 2) protect them from the sun, as well as 3) the rain. I used it with my Chicco KeyFit carseats, and it installed simply and easily. I could keep the bubble on while it was snapped into the base in the car, as well as when it was snapped into my Chicco Cortina Together stroller. As far as protecting baby from everyone and their grandma who wants to reach out and touch him/her it does great, as people can see the babies but not reach inside to touch them with their unsanitized hands. In regard to protecting baby from the sun, it performs adequately, as the mesh is darkly colored and provides some, but not alot, of sun protection. As far as the rain goes. it is better than nothing, but I wouldn't say it provides really good rain protection. The small shade that folds out will protect baby from a few drops as you rush him to the car, but definately doesn't substitute for a good shade on a stroller. Another bummer was the difficulty accessing baby while the carseat is snapped into its base in the car- you have to reach around the bubble and inside, which is difficult, and it also makes taking baby out of the carseat more work than when the shade isn't on. On the plus side, it was easy to install, and seems better than the few other options out there. Overall, I gave it 4 stars, as its a good but imperfect solution.Customer Review: Wonderful product. I recently bought the Bubble for a trip to Disneyworld with a 3 month old. I use my car seat (Chicco KeyFit 30) constantly since I use a MacLaren Easy Traveller stroller [like Snap-N-Go]. My car seat has a puny sunshade and the bubble MORE tham makes up for it. At night, when the mosquitoes came out, I was happy to zip up the insect netting. As far as being able to repel rain, it worked perfectly for a light summer shower. I got numerous compliments on the way it looked while at the park and even once at Babies R Us. "How futuristic!" and "How sleek!" I was so happy that it's made to fit all sizes of infant seats, even mine which works for up to 30 pounds. I am so happy that I bought this. For 20 dollars you get quite a bang for your buck, as it blocks sun, bugs, and rain.
*To address other reviews: Yes, you can see into the sides (through the black mosquito netting), so SOME sun can get through. I think that the benefit of the parent being able to see the child outweighs the con of a tiny bit of light getting into the car seat. The silver sunshade is opaque and does a great job of shading the sun and keeping the baby cool, even during the brightest hottest part of the day in Florida.
If you want the keep your baby even cooler during summer months, also buy a small stroller fan, like Kel-Gar. It makes it an AIR CONDITIONED Bubble.

My daughter was born 7 weeks premature. I bought this product primarily to protect her from being handled when we need to leave the house. The bug, sun, and rain protection is an added bonus. I love that it is easy to put on and remove either under or over the carry handle. I can even install the car seat in the base with this shade attached. It leaves a small gap where the seat carry handle attaches to the seat, but I'm not worried about many bugs finding that opening. The sun shade works well, but is loose enough to blow a bit to the side if there is a breeze. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Today, we had to go out in a downpour, and she did not get a drop of rain on her, thanks to this shade. It is a bit complicated to learn to twist into it's case, but is easy once learned. It folds up compactly like a car windshield shade and stores in the pocket behind the vehicle seat, which is very nice. The zipper makes is fairly east to remove baby from the car seat without removing the cover and allows me to control who can and cannot touch her. I use this shade all the time, regardless of the weather!Customer Review: A must have baby item!!!! A great find!!

I am so glad that I stumbled upon this item! it is so worth it and an excellent product! I have a graco quattro tour travel system. It fits the carseat very well. Although there is a slight gap on both sides on the bottom of the carseat but you just have to stick a blanket in both openings if you want total bug coverage so nothing gets inside.
I love that you can easily access the baby with the two zipper front.
I love that it is sunshade and bug control and netting all around so that baby can get air good and not overheat.
It is very stylish and compact. It is however, somewhat a pain sometimes to fold...it can take a few trys before getting it to fold down right. but fits flat and great to stay in the stroller basket.
I have also tried fitting it on the actual stroller without the carseat and it does work! however my baby is only 4 months old and does not have legs/feet hanging down that would push on the bubble to pop it off.
it works I love it and wish that uppababy made one for the stroller!

We use a Graco snugride infant car seat and the UPPAbaby shade fits perfectly. I find the shade more convenient and easier to store than the stroller plastic rain cover. With the UPPAbaby infant car seat shade you avoid the wind blowing the rain cover, the blankets and any items inside the car seat. You also avoid having strong sunrays peeping through the canopies. The shade also shields my 2 month old son from our two shitzus and from stares from strangers so that he can sleep more peacefully. The car seat has a canopy which fits under the UPPAbaby shade for added protection from the sun, wind and rain. I would have given the UPPAbaby 5 stars if not for the zipper which opens half way instead of all the way to make it easier to put the baby inside the car seat without having to remove the UPPAbaby shade.
With the UPPAbaby infant car seat shade you don't have to worry about the weather conditions when you step out of the door with your baby.
