Customer Review: Simply awesome. I have become an evangelist for this to my friends
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a feeling that your impression of this product factors on 3 things.

1. What type of carseat you have. 2. What type of suitcase you use 3. Whether you've practiced a couple of times before going to the airport.

I have a Britax Marathon and a Costco Kirkland small rolling suitcase. With this combination, even full, both the carseat and the suitcase stay rock-solid and upright on a flat level surface.

As such, all I have to do is pre-set the latch connectors and the tether to the right lengths the first time. After that, it is a click-click with the latch releases and it stays connected to the tether. To reconnect is another click-click. No readjusting necessary.

This makes getting through security a breeze, my son stays in the seat until the last possible moment, then quickly through the detector and right back into the seat. no fuss.

It is a tight fit down the aisle of the plane, but the seat on the suitcase fits.

I'd give it six stars if I could.

The only thing I would have to say is that this thing must have the highest profit margin ever. It is an upside down "T" made of nylon webbing with D-rings on each end. You could make it with rope and or chain from a home depot in 10 seconds. You could probably even use a single, large (4-5" diameter) "O" ring and do the same thing.

I just got back from a trip where we used this extensively. I have to say, in retrospect, I should have spent the $80 on the GoGo Travelmate and got that. To set this up and take it down so many times is a pain: set it up once in the airport, take it off at security, set it up again after security, take it off again at the plane. With 2 flights each way to our destination, we had enough of this. More importantly, there is no "requirement" stated anywhere on the carry on size. We had a smaller carry on with a duffel bag on top. We had to unhook the whole setup another 2 times to get stuff out of the duffel bag. Also, this combination didn't make it very stable and the car seat was slightly tilted the whole time. But given that only straps were holding it in place, it is difficult for it to stay very firm anyway. At one point, the entire thing flung to the side and slammed against the elevator door as we were getting in... with my daughter in it, fast asleep. The car seat frame protected her and she didn't hit her face but she came very, very close. She did jam her foot though between the car seat and the elevator door frame. All this because the weight shifted as we were wheeling her along. This is OK to use for a 1-leg trip (just 1 flight, no changes, etc), and if you have a large carry on with you. Otherwise, skip it.

Customer Review: Great product

This is a fantastic idea, and it works! We used it recently for our trip to Arizona and it was great. Between my husband and I we had 2 suitcases, 1 golf bag, an umbrella stroller and the car seat. This little invention made it easy for us to attach the car seat onto one of the suitcase, leaving us with just the other bag, the stroller and the golf bag to drag around.
I would recommend practicing at home before heading for the airport as this can be quite tricky to attach to the bag. My husband is normally very calm but I've seen him get angry because he couldn't get it to work. The trick for us was to pull the handle on the car seat to put it in the recline position, that way it fitted better.
You will have to unstrap the seat to go through security so just make sure you know how to do it properly and it will only take a minute to put back.
People in the airport were commenting on how clever it was and our daughter was happy riding in it. We used the suitcase/seat combo as our stroller in the airport which was very handy. We could even wheel her in the plane and only had to unstrap it once we reached our seat. I would imagine that in some plane the aisle might be too narrow to allow you to do that.
Overall a great product and most importantly if feels safe to use.

Customer Review: Easier than I thought

I only travel once a year to visit my family in Mexico. But to be honest I have not experienced a good trip since my 1rst child was born. Nobody told me how difficult it can be to travel with children. I used to bring a stroller to the airport and place the car seat and my daughter on top. Then I realized I looked ridiculous!. One time I noticed someone using one of those car seats with wheels. She was standing next to me and I had my daughter sitting on her car seat attachted to a 10$ stroller!. That maked me realized there's new thecnology out there. So I decided to go online and check the different options to travel around with my daughter. When I find out about the prices I went dead.

Then I discovered this product. Is very economic and practicle. I did not believe at first but once I had it at home I try it on my suit cases. Is only good for small ones. So, if you are planning to bring one small case that's fine (you can always check the other ones at the gate). The only inconvinience is when you have to go trough the check point and need to remove the car seat and put it on the band. But once you know the trick everything goes fatser. I am very pleased with this product. For people who only travels a few times per year and is cheap like me, its just perfect.

Customer Review: A practical solution!!

I recently flew alone with my one-year-old and used the traveling toddler strap with a Britax Marathon CS and a Victorianox 22" wheeled carry-on bag. The system worked flawlessly. I did practice at home before traveling to make sure the set-up would work AND to make it into a game for my daughter (we wheeled around the house and chased the dogs and made riding fun to prepare for the not-so-fun trek through the airport). The strap worked really well and was easy to attach and detach. It also worked well to help carry the car seat when not attached, as one flight was on a smaller plane where we had to gate check our bag and I had to carry the car seat to our seats. I should have bought more and sold them in the airport because I was stopped several times and asked where I had bought a suitcase that you could attach the car seat to... when I explained it was just a strap and the price, people wanted to know where to find them. This is a great product and I highly recommend it. The only drawback was needing to reattach the seat after gate-checking the bag... I left my child in the car seat and loosened and re-tightened the LATCH straps, as I wasn't strong enough to get it all re-attached otherwise... but it was still pretty easy all-considered.
