Customer Review: Best value for the money!
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently purchased the Traveling Toddler and the Tote-A-Tot Car Seat Travel Accessories. After test driving both in the house, I returned the Tote-A-Tot as it felt less secure than the Traveling Toddler, mainly because of the use of plastic buckles on the Tote-A-Tot versus metal rings on the Traveling Toddler.

I was not disappointed with my decision at all. The Traveling Toddler was amazing! It allowed me to take my 17-month-old daughter, her Britax Roundabout carseat, a backpack and rolling suitcase through the airport alone and I even had a free hand. Yes, you will have to detach the carseat from the suitcase to get through security and then to get on the plane, but it only took a few minutes to hook back together -- two clicks if you leave the Traveling Toddler attached to the tether strap of the carseat. I would put my child in her car seat, then attach the carseat to the suitcase to avoid the issue of a wandering toddler while hooking things back up. The flight attendants were extremely helpful in carrying the carseat and finding a spot for my luggage in the overhead bin while I carried my child to her seat. I went through security without help.

It was relatively easy to push -- a few times I had to get some momentum to get over a door threshold, but there are no signs of wear or marks on the strap, the carseat or my luggage. This is the cheapest option out there and unless you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on the carseat / stroller combo, this is the way to go. I had so many people stop and ask me about it.

The best part -- the novelty of it made my daughter want to keep climbing in her carseat for rides! And having her carseat on the plane was so worth it since she's used to it and didn't protest at all during any of the flights. This will be the only way we travel from now on.

Customer Review: OUTSTANDING PRODUCT/AFFORDABLE PRICE
Summary: 5 Stars

I recieved this item as a gift and boy was I thankful. I have used this product traveling all over the country. I travel alone so the convience and easy of the product was a necessity for me. The product is very easy, economical and durable. Being that I purchase a seat for my daughter (at the time 11 months old) I was able to attach the seat to the carry-on laugage with no problem and my daughter enjoyed being wheeled around the airport. Just leave the top ring attached as it goes through security and it is a breaze to hook back up at the other end. It does take a minute to hook up but what doesnt take time at security. As we where transfering planes in several airports those parents with the stroll and go ask where I got this and were shock as to how little I paid. I have a britax and havent tried it out on it because I travle with my other car seat the greco because it is one of the only car seats that is allowed on the plane that fits in the seat. My britax is to wide across. the best part there are no add parts. Just leave the top strap connected when inseting the car seat in the car or going through security and it is always there. Knowing that someone is making millions off of a $15.00 item makes me wish I came up with the idea. I am glad someone is thinking about the economical factor and convience for parents when traveling with children. THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUCH A WONDERFUL PRODUCT.

As a side note..those that do travel with infants..southwest and frontier are the only two airlines that will offer 1/2 price seating if you purchase a seat and bring a car seat on board. thank god there are airlines out there that put safety before profits. Yes they can fly for free in a seat if there is an empty seat..but lets get real when was there a empty seat.

Customer Review: Worth Every Penny
Summary: 5 Stars

I read all types of reviews for carseat products, including the seat with wheels and the fold-up roller thingy, before purchasing this one and was reluctant because often times "you get what you pay for." I should not have worried. While this is a simple product - it does exactly what you want it to: allow you to turn your carry on into a psuedo-stroller with your carseat that your child is familiar with. It was a pain through security...but not any more than any other carseat or stroller and hooking it up is a snap. My daughter was happy to sit in the seat and be strolled backward through the airport.

This product was fantastic in that I had a carseat for her on the flight and didn't have to carry her independently of it or buy something expensive that will only get used a handful of times. I also bought the carseat gate check bag and just asked the airline attendant if there was an open seat - if not, I planned to gate check the seat, and then I would still have it for the rental car. It turned out that there were empty seats both ways and that made flying so much more pleasant (and safer!). So for the $15 we all had a happy flight and an easy trip through the airport in both directions.

I am not sure why some people had problems hooking it up - with my Evenflo Symphony - it was super easy. Be forewarned, though, I could not get my carry-on with the seat down the aisle of the plane, so it had to be unhooked on the jet way, which was a hassle for one airline that would not help me get the carseat to my seat, so I had to make multiple trips from my seat to the front of the plane with my toddler in tow, but that had more to do with the width of the carseat, not the strap.

I would recommend this product highly.

Customer Review: Why didn't I think of this?!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is definitely one of those "why didn't I think of that" products!! My husband and I bought this for our recent trip to Florida; we were flying with our toddler for the first time and wanted things to run smoothly (or as smooth as they can be when traveling with a toddler). This thing was fantastic!! I will say that I agree with other reviewers when they say it isn't good if you're traveling alone with a child or internationally, I could see how that would be an issue. It proved to be a cinch with two sets of hands though. We tested it out prior to leaving and actually used our 2nd Britax carseat. We actually had it already attached to the suit case when we arrived at the airport and just transfered our daughter from the car seat in the car to the one attached to our luggage. Super smooth! We did have to detach it when we went through security, but it took about 5 seconds to reattach it when we got through to the other side (again, this is when it was usful having 2 sets of hands). I will say, it felt really good watching everyone as they passed by. We could actually hear peole commenting on how cool it was that we actually attached our car seat to the luggage. Another plus, our daughter LOVED it as well! She thought is was so cool that she got to zoom around in her car seat, it was a novelty to her. Honestly, the only down side I can come up with is that it's definitely heavy (my daughter weighs about 27 pounds) and I found it hard to push, but my husband had no problem with it. This is just an all around great product and we were so pleased with it. You really can't beat it for 15 bucks! I just think it's easiest when trveling with someone though, it might get a little tricky for a parent traveling solo. Hope this helps!

Customer Review: Have used this for 2 years and over 10 flights, still love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used the traveling toddler on multiple flights both national and international. It is amazing to use if you practice and have a good carry on suitcase. I used it with my Britax Roundabout and was able to wheel my son right down the isle of every plane. That includes small commuter ones too! One trick I learned is to keep it attached to the top anchor when you detach it from the suitcase. Then after security I have my son sit strapped-in the carseat while I click it back on the suitcase. That way he is confined to one place. The roundabout is able to stand on its own so I don't know if others can do this....

Pushing/pulling it through the airport does get annoying only because I am 5'10" and have to hunch over a little so the carseat doesn't drag on the ground (but I would also be doing this with an umbrella stroller). I didn't ever buy my son an airline seat before he was 2 but this made it easier to bring the carseat "just in case" there was a seat open and I didn't have to struggle with him. Though, I always tucked a big garbage bag under the cover of his seat so that if it did get gate checked I didn't have to worry about it getting dirty. Also, I thought my suitcase pushed it just fine until I used my sister's light-weight samsonite with 4 swivel wheel and MAN it glided like butter in that one! Even with my big 18 month old on it!

My main point is that you have to practice attaching it and pulling/pushing your child in it, then make sure you have a good cloth suitcase (it doesn't work well with the hard-case ones).

If you have any questions just leave a comment :)
