Baby Products Reviews of Traveling Toddler Car Seat Travel AccessoryCustomer Review: nothing to complain about at all! Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, so was a little weary on buying this because of previous reviews but went with it anyways. Can I say it is the EASIEST thing in the world and I am so GLAD that I bought it. Yes its 15 dollars and maybe only cost $.50 to make but this is America and its called capitalism! I have a 2 year old and a 12 month old who does not like to be held but doesn't walk that well yet. I left my 12 month old in the seat while i finished strapping the belt to the carry-on. Its says not to do that but I don't see why not, the kid is strapped into the car seat sitting on the floor. There is absolutely no danger and is so freaking easy. The latches click right in like when you use the latch system. TOO EASY. Get this and not the $80 roller thing. I ran into people at the airport that was very disappointed they got the roller thing cause you still have to connect it to the roller and then store it, where as the strap just hangs from the carseat when not in use. We fly all the time with our little ones and this product saved us a lot of grief. Brilliant!
Customer Review: Highly recommended!! Summary: 5 Stars
We just returned from our trip to Ohio. We took a total of 5 flights with our two year old and this strap was a life saver. We are lucky and own a Recarro car set which is aircraft approved. We wanted very much to travel with our son's car seat but couldn't imagine trying to trek the very heavy seat thru the several airports we had to connect in. I am so glad we found this product. It does exactly as advertised. Simply use the carseat latch system and attach it to you standard wheeled carry on. You now have a wheeled child seat. We had a four hour layover in Chicago and while out toddler didn't sit in the seat everyone's (there were 7 of us traveling) personal items ended up in the seat being wheeled around the terminals. I was hesitant at first to put out 42 lb 2 year old in the seat but by the time we landed at our destination at 11pm I gave in. There were no problems and the strap held up just fine. We will probably not have to use this item again as we have no plans to fly in the near future but it was well worth the $15 price.
Customer Review: An absolute MUST-HAVE when traveling with a carseat Summary: 5 Stars
After having traveled with my 18 month old last year while I was 5 months pregnant, I swore I would never travel alone again. You would have to be an octopus to handle all the items you need as you make your way through the airport: Stroller, carseat, luggage, child - and you only have 2 hands!
I found the "Traveling Toddler" on Amazon and am so thrilled I purchased it. As luck would have it, I had to travel with my now 3 year old and my 1 year old by myself, and certainly could not have done so without this device. With this simple strap, I was able to convert my carseat and carry on into a stroller and push it with 1 hand. The other was free to hold onto the 3 year old's hand.
The device uses the LATCH system hooks from your carseat to strap onto your luggage. If you keep the top one hooked to the device, you can easily unstrap and restrap your carseat. I have a Britax Roundabout and it worked like a charm.
This is a very inexpensive way to keep your sanity when traveling with a carseat.
Customer Review: Best travel option Summary: 5 Stars
We did a significant amount of research on travel options prior to purchasing this product and this one by a long shot, was the best value.I can't believe this product is not more widely known or carried in stores.
We just returned from international travel. The t-strap fit snugly on our roll-on and our 18 mo. old daughter was totally comfortable (even slept!) while we strolled her through the airport. My husband and I are pretty efficient travelers, so we loved the fact that this product kills 2 birds with one stone - no extra bulky stroller needed and it allowed us to bring her convertible car seat to keep her safe throughout the entire trip. The strap is very simple to use and one of the best features was that we didn't need to take my daughter out to move down the aisle in the plane! Also, not that big of a hassle to go from door-car-security checkpoint-plane-car, as the strap just connects at 3 points to your luggage. We also received a number of comments from passers by who thought this was a great idea.
Customer Review: easy to use; great value! Summary: 5 Stars
I attached a Britax Marathon (the car seat shown in the product's image here on Amazon, actually) to my rolling carry-on using this strap and it was so easy to attach to the LATCH on the car seat. I was traveling alone with my 2 year old daughter; I put her in a stroller and pushed that with one hand while wheeling the luggage/car seat with the other. (It made me nervous to have her in the seat while it was attached to my luggage because I have a smaller-size rolling piece and her feet dragged on the ground.)
Another great feature of this accessory is that you can just unclip the side LATCH snaps but leave the top strap attached to the seat(without it affecting the seat while in use on plane); that way, when you disembark you can more easily re-thread it through your carry-on's handle.
And I LOVE how small the strap is: I keep it in my carry-on all the time so I don't lose it. I would recommend doing a test run using the strap on your luggage before your flight just to make sure you feel comfortable using it.
