Customer Review: May look weird, but WONDERFUL mobile

This was given to me as a shower gift...and I admit when I saw it I thought it was "weird" and matched NOTHING. But I had an intense baby and was desperate to find something to soothe him, and the wind-up we had wasnt cutting it. This is AMAZING....there isnt a "stop" but you can turn the volume to low or high and it shuts off after 15 minutes.. It gives you 3 different classical options and my son loved watching the little stars fall down eaach time the mobile went around. PLUS, when he was old enough to stand and pull at it, I detached the mobile and left the Music box on so he could still hear the tunes. The music box part was also GREAT for travel!!! Would recommend this to ANYONE again ANYTIME, ANYDAY!!! A++++++Customer Review: We use it every night!

We started using the mobile when our baby was about 6 weeks old, as we transitioned him to the crib from his bassinet. The black and white designs and primary colors are great - easy for an infant to track. As I mentioned in the title, our son (now three months) goes to sleep every night with this mobile turned on. It provides something for him to listen to as he drifts off to sleep. I guess it is rather loud, but that works for us because we play a recording of a rainstorm in his bedroom all night long. The white noise helps him to sleep. The mobile is loud enough to hear over the rain, but I don't think it's too loud for him. All in all, we're really pleased with the mobile. I just wish we had one with a remote!Customer Review: Good, with a few drawbacks

Overall this is an excellent mobile for keeping my son's attention and entertaining him for a few minutes at a time. I particularly like the black and white patterns, which make the mobile appropriate even for little babies who can't quite focus on shapes and colors yet.
The only problem I found was that this mobile is not useful for soothing my son at all - I can't use it if I want him to go to sleep! The music's has "low" volume setting is still too loud to be used as naptime or bedtime background noise, and the small disks on the arms of the mobile - which slip up and down as the mobile turns - made rattling noises that really grab my son's attention.

I'm a first time mom and didn't check this mobile out very well. I only picked it for it's colors. In fact, it was my inspiration for my room decor. It needs a mute button, an option to stop the sliding things, and a main on-off button away from baby. I went to find these options as my new baby cried and was shocked not to find them. I finally got smart and taped the sliding things and muffled the speaker with some craft foam which only helped a little. My now three month old enjoys the mobile when he's happy, but he has yet to fall asleep with it. I will try also to break it open and disconnect the music, but I think I will have to pick a new crib toy that is for sleeping.Customer Review: DANGEROUS PRODUCT!

received this mobile as gift for 1st child; the motor stopped working but she was getting too old for it so i packed it away. kid #2 comes along, so i bought an identical used mobile off of ebay. on this one, the post that holds the mobile to the crib BROKE OFF and i found the mobile INSIDE the crib. luckily , my child was not in the crib when the mobile fell. if you are going to use the mobile, turn it so that the buttons are outside the crib so if it falls, it falls on the floor. it is a shame that the motors on these die and the assembly is poor, because there are few other mobiles on the market that combine sound and movement the way this one does. should be recalled.
