Baby Products Reviews of The Ultimate Baby Wrap in NavyCustomer Review: Flying made easy Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this carrier before taking a trip out to see my parents when my daughter was 4 months old and my husband was unable to come with me. I was a little nervous about flying with her so I wanted something secure for her to be in during the flight. We had a Front & Back Snugli which she hates & screams when we try to put her in it. We tried a sling - she screamed in that too. This was the only thing she was willing to stay in & is really happy staying in for long periods of time (like a flight). I wanted to get it in grey, but it was only available in navy at the stores and it was unavailable at the time online. Despite what another review said, I didn't have to take it off while going through security at the airport. Also, it's not hard to put on. I was able to get it just from the pictures though the video helps better show how to put the baby in. I live on the third floor in my complex & this carrier is the only way I can get groceries home while staying with her. I gave it only 4 stars because it is best to put it on before you leave since the fabric will get dirty if you try to put it on in a parking lot. Other than that, it fits well - for both me and my husband - & is very comfortable.
Customer Review: Just Purchased Summary: 4 Stars
After researching many carriers, I've decided to purchase the Ultimate Baby Wrap. I have the Baby Bjorn carrier and it kills my back and my baby is kind of fussy in it. This wrap looks so comfortable, the only thing I'm a little worried about are the reviews that say the baby slides down after time.
I also googled this wrap and found it on many other websites at many different prices. A lot of sites are sponsored by Amazon.com, so all of these sites have the same prices and colors. I was looking for this wrap in black, and I found it at (...), they carry it in several different colors. The price is a little more, but they offer free shipping and didn't charge me tax, so in the end amazon.com was more after shipping and tax then the other site.
Can't wait to give this wrap a try. My 2 month old does great through out the day without being held, but around 4 or 5pm and until bedtime he is very fussy and can't be put down, which can make dinner time a bit difficult.
I hope this carrier is as good as everyone says, because I spent so much money on the Baby Bjorn and now buying something totally different, but if it works, it's worth the money to me.
Customer Review: baby wrap carrier Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased the baby wrap for a trip across the country by plane. I thought this would be easier than using the sling, which I really liked with my other 3 children, but the sling seems to put more pressure on my shoulder and neck.
The baby wrap does secure the baby and free your hands and baby likes it. I don't have the feeling that my baby will fall out unless I use one hand to hold him (I had to do this with the sling). However, we were in such a hurry in the airport and between flights and there was no space on the plane to put the wrap on and remove it, that I just held baby on the plane and we used an umbrella stroller in the airports. Also, my trip was to Louisiana in August and the very thought of wearing this made me sweat.
I do like this item and I will use it at home. It really distributes the baby's weight evenly and does not hurt my back. Learning to use it is not hard at all. It just takes practice. I would say it is not as easy to use as the sling, but as baby grows, it continues to be useful. I did find it easier to use than a front pack, however and none of the back ache. I would buy this product again, but earlier. I waited until my baby was 5 months.
Customer Review: Comfortable but takes a long time to put on Summary: 3 Stars
This was the first baby carrier I tried, and I did use it from the time my daughter was a newborn until about 4 months of age. It was snug and comfortable. However, it took so long to put on, I ended up getting rid of it. Here's my analysis of this carrier:
Pros:
1. Soft and comfortable for baby
2. Easy to move about and do chores while wearing
3. Not as expensive as many carriers
4. Fairly compact
Cons:
1. Takes a long time to put on - think about trying to get into this thing while your little one is screaming to be held
2. Sags over time - after an hour or so I would need to tighten it a bit, which would sometimes wake my daughter. In the sling position she would often end up lying nearly horizontal at my waist, and I would worry about my breasts smothering her.
3. Not good for mall trips - the tails are on the floor as you tie it up so the ground will touch this then by tied around you next to baby
Do I recommend this product? If you are exceedingly patient, then you'll be fine. If not, you'll want something else. I ended up going with the Kangaroo Korner Adjustable Cotton Pouch - super easy to wear and use.
Customer Review: Comfy cozy Summary: 5 Stars
I perused the reviews of all baby carriers before I got this, and this one seemed the best and most versatile. Seven months later, baby and I are still loving it, and it's just as good as the day I got it. Mainly we've used the tummy-to-tummy carry, which is the best, but the outward facing way is good too. The nursing/sling carry didn't really work for us, but I'll admit to not giving it much of a shot. He didn't seemed to like the wrap pushing against his head. I haven't used the hip carry, because he's still small. I just tried the back carry the other day, and it seemed unstable, but maybe once he's bigger that will correct itself.
It is not hard to put on, though more time consuming than something that's all put together. It takes thirty seconds to get it wrapped, less if you're not worried about getting it twisted. It even has a dvd to teach you how to use it.
I'm giving it 5 stars because I love it. People compliment it all the time at the grocery store and when I stop at my old office. I haven't tried any others, because I knew I could only afford to buy one thing. Fortunately, I believe that I got the best thing.
