Customer Review: My best investment by far!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Finally, a highly intellectual person(s) has invented a way of saving our poor, aching backs! The Ultimate Baby Wrap is my MIRACLE! I originally bought a different carrier, but it was quite uncomfortable for my ribs, shoulders, and back...so, I returned it. Then, I read all the wonderful reviews of the Ultimate Baby Wrap and thought I'd give it a try...I can't rave enough about it! I have no more aches and pains. My 4 month old son wants mommy to carry him 24/7, but, as much as I love to hold him, my spine was starting to give way. Now, we can have all the mommy and baby bonding time, yet still have my hands free to water the lawn, fold the laundry, and even type this letter as we speak. Also, we recently took the baby to Disneyland and I carried him in the Ultimate Baby Wrap for about six hours, and I still felt great at the end of the day with literally no pain in my spine or shoulders (just sore feet from walking all day). I highly recommend this to every parent...Just give it a try and I really think that you, too, will love this product as much as I do. It truly is a lifesaver!

PROS:
1) 5 in 1 carrier positions (sling for newborns, tummy to tummy, facing out, side/hip carrier, and even carry on back)...this is the only carrier you'll ever need to buy, and it takes less than a minute to wrap around you.

2) Lightweight t-shirt type material that comes with a carrying sack for easily storing in diaper bag.

3) Bottom-end of wrap has loop-rings to tie material through, so, when you need to take it off, there are no tight knots to undo.

4) Evenly distributes weight so NO MORE aching backs or shoulders for parents.

5) Soft and stretchy, yet supportive for baby, with no buckles for their poor little heads to rub against (seems much more ergonomically comfortable than some of the other carriers)

6) Great price!!!!

CONS:
1) Not that it's any big deal, but it would be nice to have a better variety of colors to choose from rather than navy, black, or gray. Possibly some earth tones would be pretty (olive, taupe, etc).

2) Must hang dry or else it will shrink dramatically. So, when you wash it, you have to wait a day before using it again. I had hoped that the material was pre-shrunked, so we could just conveniently throw it in the dryer after every wash.

3) Some may find that it's not very convenient time-wise to watch instructional video, but, I highly recommend that you do to get the maximum benefit out of your wrap (it's a very short video, only 5-minutes).

Customer Review: the only carrier my baby will use
Summary: 5 Stars

I read a lot of reviews and looked at a lot of carriers before buying this one. We bought the UBW a week or two after our little one was born. We were given a Snugli and had bought a sling-type carrier, but DD would not even let me put her in the Snugli without screaming and the sling had lots and lots of cushy fabric and was just too hot.

Although daunting at first, this wrap is so easy to get on (DVD really helps) and I haven't seen any other reviewers mention that once it's on, it's "poppable"--baby can be taken in and out multiple times (may need to tighten at the rings tho) without removing the wrap. You can put your baby into the wrap in any of the 5 positions after only having put the wrap on once. That is a big plus I think!

I have had trouble with the sleeping/nursing position--just can't seem to get everything adjusted well. It is either too loose or too tight, and DD seems to not like having the fabric over the back of her head holding her tightly to my breast.

Also, it does tend to get a little warm at times. Here in Los Angeles and both DD and I being quite "warm-blooded" there are times where I wouldn't be able to use it outdoors because of the heat factor. I bought a mei tai for this reason, thinking DD would be cooler, but she'll have none of the mei tai!!! So I just dress her very lightly and use the UBW.

As for other posters talking about their baby screaming while they are getting the wrap on--I imagine that could happen with many wraps, but I'll tell you, when DD sees that I am putting this on, she calms down and watches me. Kids learn quick, and I am convinced she knows she's about to be snuggled up next to Mama in a few seconds. In any case, even if she has to scream while I get it on, there are times where she won't stop being fussy or fall asleep if I am merely holding her in my arms. At 3 mo old, she still seems to need the swaddley feeling of the wrap. After being put inside, she's asleep with a little dancing and shhhh-ing in just a couple of minutes.

This is the best product I have purchased for my baby. I have bought this product for 2 friends since purchasing my own, and will continue to give this as a shower gift to every new mom. It has truly made a huge difference in my ability to not only get things done and go about the day, but also in my ability to soothe and mother my daughter in a way that she loves.

Customer Review: You should at least give it a try...you'll love it!

With a new baby its hard to ever have both hands free at the same time. I am someone that likes to take my baby places and am constantly busy around the house. When I'm out, sometimes the stroller is to big to push around and the carseat is to heavy to carry for long periods of time. I have always wanted a carrier that would keep my baby close and my arms free. I have searched through the parenting magazines, the internet and have randomly asked other mothers what they would use for carriers. I find that buckled carriers have too many staps to attach and are a nusense when trying to calm a crying baby that just wants to be held. When I saw other women using hammock-like carrier's both the mothers and baby's looked so content that I had to find one for myself. I stumbled upon The Ultimate Baby wrap and thought sure, the pictures looked cute but I needed to find out if it was really useful. I read through all the reviews and found that it was a toss up between loving it and hating hit. So I figured it looked promising and if it failed it could always be returned! When my husband brought it home I was intimated by one long piece of fabric but I was still excitied. I did follow advice on the reviews and I popped in the DVD. After watching the very short video ( when you have a baby we all know time is everything) I practiced putting it on a couple of times. I think that if you can tie your shoe you can tie the wrap. Like when you first learned to tie your shoe, it takes a couple of trys to get the hang of it. As soon as I put the baby in she was quiet(FYI we have a colicky baby too!)and fell asleep. I decided to test it out the next day at a women's expo to see if it would really work. Not only was it easy to put on the next day but she stayed in it the entire time with no fussing! Women were asking me left and right where I got that great device! I felt no back pain or soreness while wearing it and my baby was very secure and snug inside! All you need to do is be open minded and give it a chance! You will not be disapointed! After only one day of owning it I was putting it on like a pro! I highly recommend it to all mothers but make sure you watch the video because a picture on the box doesn't do justice!

Customer Review: Good, but there's WAY better stuff out there!

Let me begin by saying that my 6 month long quest for the perrfect baby carrier DID NOT end with the ultimate baby wrap... It seemed like a great idea at the time, and it's gotten such rave reviews... I think if all those people tried some other things they'd leave the ultimate baby wrap sitting on the closet shelf forever more.
The ultimate baby wrap is really bulky. When it arrives at your house, you are going to take it out of it's little pouch and exclaim "WOW! That's a lot of fabric!" It is so long, and hard to manage. Even after I got the hang of putting it on it was still a huge pain and it never fit right. It was always coming loose and I NEVER felt like the baby was secure. Plus, it's really unflattering to wear, and it pulls your shirt up revealing your stomach - something that a lot of new moms would want to avoid in public...
I have tried MANY baby carriers, and I finaly found my best all around carrier on e bay. If you go to the community and look up member comfyjoey. It's a lovely woman who sells the coolest pouch carriers. Most of them are just about the same price as the ultimate baby wrap. I love them so much that I have bought 5 already! They come in really really pretty fabrics, and they are really flattering to wear. That was a big issue. I needed my carrier to be comfortable and safe for the baby, comfortable for me, and flattering to wear. The comfyjoey pouches are all those things. My baby LOVES being in her pouch, and I feel so much closer to her now that I can wear her all day. And since I'm not spending the whole time wearing it adjusting rings or tightening/loosening/adjusting/pulling back/etc, I can actually concentrate on enjoying being with the baby. It's lovely. :) The very nice woman who makes them custom fits them to your measurements to ensure the perfect fit. She is really helpful and sweet. It's amazing that for the same amount of money you could get so much more than what the ultimate baby wrap offers. Before you spend your money on an ultimate baby wrap, please check out comfyjoeys. There's really no comparison. Thanks and good luck!

Customer Review: A definite must-have!

This was the most useful purchase I made for my baby girl! At first I was hesitant to use it, because my husband was nervous about me "spoiling" our daughter by carrying her around all the time. But after the first week and a half of her life I got tired of trying to get things done with one hand and/or listening to her scream because she wanted to be held. She spent the next 6 weeks in this thing almost exclusively. I would put it on in the morning, and leave it on all day long. It is very easy to put on once you're used to it, and it is very comfortable to wear. I never had any back or shoulder strain while using it. Most importantly, my daughter loved it! She would fall asleep within 1 minute of being put in it for the first few weeks, then as she got older, she really enjoyed being able to see the world and feel me at the same time. It was especially useful when we went to the store, because she could sleep peacefully while I shopped - even in bright, noisy stores. Another plus was that (after some practice), I was able to nurse her while wearing it with no worries for privacy...the sling covered us both completely.

The only complaints I have probably can't be helped, due to the nature of the sling: the very comfortable jersey knit material tends to stretch as you wear it. So I did have to adjust the fit throughout the day so it wasn't too loose to carry my baby. It had a tendency to bunch a bit also, but with practice I got better at putting it on properly so it didn't bunch too much. It also isn't exactly stylish, so unless my baby was actually in it, I would get some strange looks from people. Lastly, I did buy it with the intention of using it into my daughter's toddler years, but as she got older and started walking, her constant up/down requests made it impractical to continue to try to use it.

Overall, the versatility of this sling is far superior to any other carrier I have seen or used. The comfort both for the parent and (especially) the baby is well worth the unconventional design. I very highly recommend this sling, and give it as a gift to all my expectant friends!
