When people call me and tell me that they have a revolutionary new product that's just perfect for One Hot Mama, I almost always know that they're wrong. It's not so much that I've seen everything out there (although I almost have) but that I won't sell anything that doesn't work for me. If I didn't use it or wear it, we don't sell it. So this lovely hot mama who manufactures it, Holly, came to see me with her babies in tow. I tried it on (by wrapping it around myself in front and back and then looping the end through a ring on the hip) and she passed over her very sturdily-built son. Oh. My. Gosh. It was awesome! I could barely feel his weight, and he didn't look all stiff and marionette-like like babies in some other slings. You can position the baby on either hip, in the front, or in the back, or lying to the side to nurse. For people who need a little more support, or for those of us who want to wear our babies while wearing a coat, the Ultimate Baby Wrap is the answer.Stylish and snuggly, real moms created this wrap with not just carrying, but bonding, in mind. Why? When Baby is happy (that is, tummy-to-tummy and face-to-face with Mummy) everybody's happy. Little ones (up to 35 lbs.) will appreciate the stretch and give of cotton-Lycra, instead of the binding of more structured and buckled (ouch!) carriers. It also has a hidden, 3-point security harness that both balances mom's weight, and supports baby's frame. The manufacturers say the wrap is nice enough to wear alone as a top (if you must .) but with five positions--hip, back, torso, upright, or for nursing--parents won't get into a fashion rut from wearing it all the time--which you might be tempted to do. The ingenious feature: thoughtful head and foot slots, to cover extremities on wet or nippy days. The downside: a couple of the positions, cozy though they are, would challenge Houdini. Customer Review: don't bother

I used this sling with my third child. If you watch the little video they give you with the wrap, it's easy to figure out how to use it. The problem is, when you start to put it on, it's one LOOONG piece of material -- the "tails" drag on the ground until you get it wrapped around you. So I never bothered wearing it outside the house, because unless I planned to keep it on all day, I would have to deal with the wrap getting dirty when I went to put it on.
I personally found this carrier to be more comfortable to wear than the BabyBjorn,which I used with my first two children. However, by the time my baby was 4 months old, the stretchy fabric couldn't support his weight well enough and he would constantly slump down and I'd have to hoist him up to readjust the wrap. I'd have to readjust it at least every 5 minutes. So I just put it away and never used it again after that point. So the sling does have some bonuses, but I don't think it's worth the money.
