I got this monitor as a gift at my baby shower. The very first time I used it I noticed a lot of static and humming. However, I continued to use it because I didn't have the receipt. It is very sensitive which is the only pro about it. I practically hear my daughter breathing if I turn it up the loudest!! Not reliable at all when used on battery power to be mobile. It has constant static when I walk around with it on battery power and even blacks out sometimes where it stops working. The static is the biggest down fall. If you're standing in a certain position in the house, it may be static. Sometimes when I bring my hand near the receiver, it goes haywire. This monitor was rated well by consumer reports, I liked that it came with two recievers, so I asked for it last year. The reception is great!!!! I can go outside and any place in the house and it always works. I can hear her stir no problem. I have had the monitor(s) for over a year and they still work great. I even accidently dropped one in the pool---ooops down it went to the bottom, but after I poured the water out of the battery compartment and let it dry it worked fine. That reciever is prone to more static than the one that never went for a swim, but at least it still works. I would and have recommended this monitor to others.Customer Review: Very Sensitive

I bought this monitor while expecting my second child. I wanted something to be able to hear if my toddler was trying to climb into the crib. This Monitor is so super sensitive, I can hear my toddler moving around in his bed at night. I can hear the covers moving. I haven't had any problems with this monitor yet, and have had it for almost 2 months. I got it on clearence at the store, and the batteries weren't very good, so had to get differant ones. I don't know if this was because it was on clearence, the batteries were just old, or if it's the brand of batteries that came with the monitor. All in all- Very Good Buy!!!Customer Review: Get what you pay for

There is definitely a lot of static, but the receivers seem very sensitive also. One of the receivers quit working after the first battery change and we had to exchange it - luckily still within 90 days.
Bad thing about receivers - they will not take rechargeable batteries. So that adds to the overall cost. Based on all the reviews of other monitors, this one is still about as good as it gets for the price. They all seem to have static or will randomly beep. At least this one does not wake me up in the middle of the night - unless the baby is crying.

I have my daughter every other weekend. When she would sleep, I would jump to check on her when there was any type of sound that could have been a cry. I hated how her mother's monitoring device had feedback and picked up everything; from a door slamming to someone bouncing a ball down the street. At first I thought it was so silent (lack of background noise) that it would miss her grumps as she starts to wake up, not so with this device. It was clear and picked up her first peeps. Good stuff and thank you. - Single Dad
