Baby Products Reviews of The First Years Sit and Store Parent Bathing Seat and StepstoolCustomer Review: multi-tasking mom Summary: 5 Starsthis tub side seat is great because:
1) it is a very roomy storage box for all of your munchkins bathtime toys (with a lid that the munchkin can't take off himself)
2) it is a durable seat
3) it is a safe stepping stool that doesn't slip
it has proved to be very useful.
Customer Review: Great for multiple uses in the bathroom Summary: 5 StarsWe got this item to use mainly as a step stool for our 14 1/2 month old daughter. She is working on potty training and we opted for one of the seat instead of a potty. The step up is still a bit high for her to manage on her own but with a little help from mom or dad she able to manage it. We were just lifting her up onto the seat but our doctor suggested a step stool just to aid in the process. She was always proud of herself as were we when she used the potty but this simple and inexpensive item made her 10 times prouder of herself. WE can tell she really feels like a big girl when she uses it and her potty seat.
It's also GREAT for bath time. We had one of those hook on tubside kneelers and it worked great for us but with age we needed more of a seat than a kneeler. She loves to play in the water so we were usually sitting on the counter and letting her play. Well this gives us more height and it wider than the other thing so we're able to sit beside the tub (without sitting in the wet floor) and play with her. Plus there is room inside it to store a couple of her favorite books for potty time.
Customer Review: love it love it love it Summary: 5 StarsI only wish I had bought this sooner. My back was killing me from trying to bend over the right way to bathe my daughter. Now i just sit on the seat and am perfectly comfortable. My 13 month old loves to take baths and now I love giving her them. We don't really use it for storage much but there is a ton of room if we wanted to. One of the reviewers said you can't use it as a step stool if you're over 20 lbs. I weigh 110 and have used it as a step stool.
Customer Review: What a back saver! Summary: 5 StarsThis is a GREAT product! We have very limited space where we live, so it is wonderful to be able to keep my daughter's bath toys, soaps, lotions, and other items in one toteable place. But, even better, the seat is the perfect height for me to sit tubside and give my daughter a bath without looking like a hunchback afterward. I'm prone to backaches to begin with, and leaning over a tub to wash an infant is just torture. This seat has made things sooo much easier!
Customer Review: great storage container, good step stool, so so tub side seat Summary: 3 StarsAs a tub side seat the sit 'n store is comfortable enough to sit on, but it's impossible to sit facing forward with my knees against the side of our garden tub and still be able to reach down to bathe my daughter. Sitting sideways is a little easier, but then I'm have to twist around which is rather uncomfortable. I even tried kneeling on it, but that puts a strain on my back. I usually end up standing and pushing the tub side seat away. If I could just find a comfortable way to use it during bathtime I would give it 5 stars because it functions so well in every other way.
As a storage container it is spacious enough to hold all the pieces to my daughter's bath toys and it even has vents on the sides so air can circulate through.
My 2-year-old loves using it as a step stool. It's light enough for her to move it on her own, but big enough to offer her plenty of room and it stays in place without sliding around while in use.
I like the color of the blue lid, unfortunately it clashes with the color scheme of the bathroom, so I used Krylon spray paint for plastics to paint it a more neutral color. I usually store it in the cabinet under the sink, but if I happen to leave it out it blends in with the decor and it doesn't take up too much space.
All in all I would recommend it. It's convienent for sitting while I dress my daughter and serves as a portable bath kit. Since she often attempts to run when she knows it's bathtime, having eveything in one place makes getting started much easier.
Another use for it is as a toilet training step stool. Small children can rest their feet on it, and if you have a removable child toilet seat, depending on the size, you can store it inside here along with a box of flushable wipes and child hand soap.
