Baby Products Reviews of The First Years Night and Day Bottle Warmer SystemCustomer Review: Great Product! Summary: 5 Stars
After trying and returning every bottle warmer at babies r us this one is a winner! I wish I would have bought it first. It warms my bottles (Dr.Brown's wide neck 4oz) perfectly every time!!! We keep it in the baby's room so the cooler part is perfect for late night/early morning feedings. Before I go to bed I place 2 bottles in the cooler and fill the water holders. This saves a lot of time in the middle of the night. Instead of going to the kitchen then the baby's room I go to her room place the bottle in the warmer, change her diaper, talk to her a little and the bottle is ready. Perfect every time! At first you do need to play around with the amount of water your bottles need. After you get that figured out you cant have a better warmer. Unless you found one that only takes a couple of seconds!! Until then we cant live without this warmer!
Customer Review: Pretty good item Summary: 4 Stars
I received this item as a gift from my registry and I am pretty satisfied with it. The only time it overheated bottles was when I let the bottle sit there, past the timer's indicator light. Once that red light turns off, you need to remove the bottle, otherwise, the moisture that accumulates at the bottom of the bottle, will just drip onto the warmer itself, continuing to create steam...THUS, continuing to warm!!! (A word of advice for the makers of this product would be to make the button ring once it finishes warming bottles) Currently you hear the button pop back out, but if your baby is crying, you may miss this popping noise, and potentially overheat the bottle. The cooler part is very helpful, especially at night. Love the night-light. Read the instructions FULLY to get a better idea of what to expect with this warmer and for maintenance.
Customer Review: With a little practice this is a nice warmer Summary: 4 Stars
My only complaint is figuring out how much water to use to heat the bottle. The instructions indicate the water holder should be filled to the taller fill line to heat an 8 oz bottle and the shorter fill line to heat a 4 oz bottle. Well, my 4 oz bottles are sometimes too hot or cold and you have to wait 10 minutes before using the unit again. I have had to use the faucet to correct my over or under bottle heating. I still like this bottle warmer and with practice I will figure out the correct amount of water. The night light is great and the insulated cooler is another nice feature. I am using the Avent bottles and this system will accomodate the 9 oz Avent bottles if you use the MINI-BASKET. The mini-basket will also hold baby food jars. The 4oz bottles fit in the warming chamber with the regurlar basket.
Customer Review: great for new parents Summary: 4 Stars
being parents for the first time is hard enough and by having something so quick and easy to use like this was wonderful. our son was nursed the first month & when we switched to formula it was hard to get the bottle warm fast enough for him in the middle of the night but with the night and day bottle warmer by the time we got the bottle started and him changed it was all ready for him. i recommend filling a bottle with cold water & heating it to the warmth you prefer for your baby so you know what amount of water you need to fill your water gauge with(the numbers on our gauge wore off quickly & it made us know an estimate of how much water we neede to heat it with). we liked this so much we got the first years bottle travel system (cooler with a car travel bottle warmer). definatly a must have!
Customer Review: Great with practice Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great product. It takes a little practice to get the right amount of water. Disposables take much less b/c they tend to trap the steam, etc. I don't see how complaints about burning your hands could possibly be true. Sure it boils the water - it has to make steam! But why would you reach inside there? There is no reason I can think of why you'd ever need to do that. And with the first 2 children we used this on, I've never had a bottle even become remotely stuck, snug, you name it - not even close - so don't worry about it. I've used Avent 4oz and 9oz bottles as well as Playtex disposable bag bottles. It's not really a good use of money if you're just using formula - just make it with warm water. But if you're nursing your child and want dad to be able to help at night, this is a must have....
