Customer Review: You're better off using a microwave to heat the bottles!
Summary: 1 Stars

WHAT TO DO IF YOU JUST BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT: Go outside and bang your head as hard as you can against the side of your house---Maybe that will knock some sense into you after you've gone looney trying to use this piece of junk!!! As many reviewers have noted, it is extremely difficult to get this bottle warmer to work properly.
First off, the little vials you use to measure the water into are poorly marked -- Why did they choose to use teeny-tiny WHITE lettering? STUPID! It is then very tricky to get the proper amount of water into the vials. In fact the difference between say, level 2 and level 3 is maybe two drops of water! Trying doing that out of a standard faucet. In fact we use a filtered water faucet (with a thin spout) and it is still hard to get write.
But that's easy compared to figuring out the right water-in-the-vial to formula-in-the bottle ratio! We are currently using a 4oz Playtex bottle (with the disposable bags) and are contantly playing a guessing game as to the right amount of water to use. Level 3--- still to cold, but wait, last night that same amount of water practically scalded the formula! And just try to use a vented-type bottle...Forget it! How about an 8oz. bottle? NO WAY! Either way to cold or way to hot.
And even though we use filtered water, this thing still need to be cleaned with vinegar (as recommended) evey week or so. However, the cleaning barely hepls and after less than 8 weeks of use we now use the microwave more and more. Why? Because we know that 4oz. of formula will always need 6-7 seconds in the microwave...Every time!

Customer Review: Looking for a better mouse trap...

I've heard some say this is the best warmer available. If so, parents are S.O.L. Heating is SO inconsistent. Same amount of water with the same amount of milk will produce a different temperature every single time. Sometimes way too cold and sometimes way too hot. When the heating indicator light turns off you must be right there to pull the bottle out or it will continue to significantly warm the bottle without any water medium. Be sure to loosen your bottles cap during heating and check to see that the travel disc is not in place. Otherwise, the bottles (esp. Brown's) will overflow. If that happens cleaning the inside of the warmer is a major hassle because the milk will have burned onto the heating plate. The carrier is too short for Mr. Brown 8oz. bottles or any other of similar height. The tubes provided to premeasure water are a joke. The caps are so hard to close and open you need two really strong hands and maybe multiple tools to shut or flip the tops open. Of course, you will likely be holding your crying and squirming baby in one arm while trying to do open the cap and not spill all the water. They tried to get fancy with the shape of the tubes and cap they forgot to make them easy to use.I just can't believe that someone can't design a better "mouse trap".
To add insult to injury, the taps on the handle that are supposed to hold the top of the bottle storage compartment just broke off...

Customer Review: BEWARE
Summary: 2 Stars

The only instance I see this being helpful is for people with more than one floor (example, the bedrooms are upstairs, the kitchen is downstairs). Then you can store two bottles in the cooler and not have to go downstairs to prepare a bottle late at night.

However, I have one serious complaint. Aside from the fact that it takes a pretty long time to heat the bottles, the temperature it heats the bottles to has NEVER been consistent. There have been numerous times when it heated the bottles to a scalding hot temperature. There is no excuse for this. Aside from possibly injuring your child if you are not careful to check, when you have a screaming infant, the 5 minutes it takes to heat the bottle is more than excessive. However if you have to tack on another 5 minutes to let the bottle cool down you'll have two screaming people...the baby AND you.

And on that note there have been numerous occasions when the warmer didn't heat the bottle well and I was left with a cold bottle. Then you have to wait for the warmer to cool down before you can try again. Again, a 10 minute ordeal. Any caregiver knows that 10 minutes to a hungry baby is a LONG time not only for the baby but for the caregiver as well.

I've found it much easier on me and my daughter to just make the bottles, as needed, in the sink and skip the warmer altogether. That way YOU control the water temperature and your baby doesn't have to wait for a long time to be fed.

My advice...skip it.

Customer Review: Really glad I bought this
Summary: 4 Stars

I didn't register for a bottle warmer because I had heard so many people say they are a waste of money. I was heating the bottles by running hot water over them or putting them in a small pot on the stove and heating them up. These techniques would take forever while my baby screamed and cried. We also have a two story home with the bedrooms on the second floor so it was a real pain to have to come downstairs in the middle of the night to get a bottle ready and heat it up. So I decided to look for a bottle warmer.

I bought this one because I also like that it has a compartment that keeps the bottles cool. It keeps them as chilled as if they were in the refrigerator, which is where I usually keep my bottles ( I make several up and then store them in the fridge throughout the day). This product also heats the bottles up much faster than the other ways I was doing before. I like this product so much that I'm now wanting to buy a second bottle warmer for downstairs but without the cooling compartment.

The only downside is that you have to fill the vials with water, which is not a big deal, but it took a few test runs to figure out how much water to use to get the bottle warm enough. I just tested some bottles with cold water in them and tried different water amounts in the vials to figure it out. After that, this product was very easy to use and I would recommend it to anyone especially if you have a multi level home.

Customer Review: Couldn't Live Without It
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading some of the reviews, I didn't know how well it would work. Boy was I wrong! It saved me from having to go downstairs countless times in the middle of the night to get a bottle and heat it up. We have a big two-story house and the kitchen is downstairs at the opposite end. I kept it right in the bedroom and I could store up to two bottles (one for middle of the night and one for first morning feedings) and heat them up without really having to get out of bed. It's easy to use. An ice pack keeps the bottles cold through the night and it has a built in warmer to heat them up. Only twice did the warmer heat the bottles too much and I had to run the bottle under cold water in the bathroom(good thing we have a bathroom off our bedroom). We don't use it anymore since our baby is three months old now. For the first two weeks we used it in the middle of the night and in the morning then he started sleeping through the night and we used it for about four more weeks for morning feedings. We stopped using it around six weeks when he stopped sleeping in the bassinet in our bedroom and started sleeping in his crib in his own room. Even thought we didn't use it for long, it was well worth it considering how it saved us from running downstairs in the middle of the night and we could feed him in bed in the morning and play with our wonderful newborn.
