Baby Products Reviews of The First Years Night&Day Bottle Warmer System

Customer Review: thank you baby bottle warmer
Summary: 5 Stars

I used to run prepared bottles in hot running water for feeding before I purchased this. I think its great that the product has both warmer and cooler. It's been very helpful at night when I don't have to go to the fridge to get the prepared bottles and warm them. The warming is a hit and miss though. I feed my baby 4oz of milk in an 8oz bottle. The instructions say I should fill the warmer using the measuring container it came with at level 8 with a 4/6oz bottle. I use level 9 since my fridge is very cold. Sometimes I use level 8 so its not that warm. But after a while, you'd get the right level for your bottles.

Customer Review: Perfect
Summary: 5 Stars

It's fast, it's efficient and economical. The cooler is the best feature. When you warm the bottles than if you can't feed at the time the cooler will keeep the bottles warm. So you save time and the time you saved can be use for doing things for you. That is a great factor I rate it above five stars.

Customer Review: Use this everyday
Summary: 4 Stars

Seriously, this product is not bad. Read the directions and use some practice times before you set it up for night use. I use it everynight in my daughters upstairs bedroom. It saves running downstairs for a bottle or having her cry through the house as I take her downstairs. The lids on the water holders are snug as to hold the water in. As long as you get the bottle warming THEN pick up your baby then you're fine. The warmer will warm a bottle different each time depending on when you made it, i.e. has it been in the fridge for 1 hour or 6 hours? It will be colder the longer it has been in the fridge thus not warming the same as a bottle just made an hour ago. As I said, practice a bit to find what works and it's a good product to use. Also, do not heat bottles with the nipples etc. on, leave the bottle top open. And if you use the Dr. Browns the 80z DO fit in it you just can not have a cap on it in the cold area. I use this everyday and it works great for me.

Customer Review: Good after you get used to it
Summary: 4 Stars

I really appreciate this warmer during the night when I don't want to get up to go to the fridge, possibly having to turn a light on, to get a bottle while the kid is screaming, then still have to warm it while the kid is still screaming. You do have to play around with the water amounts, but my child doesn't have to have it "just right," he only wants the coldness edge taken off. I've never had it warm a bottle too much, actually. I do find that it is somewhat inconsistent. Just make sure to check the temp before giving a bottle to the baby.

Customer Review: Love it -- but it takes a good "touch"
Summary: 4 Stars

I received this as a gift from a coworker, and just wish I'd had it for my first baby! As previous reviewers have noted, the chart giving water measurements for warming bottles is wildly inaccurate -- but, without making a truly complicated grid taking into account whether the bottle is cold, cool, or luke-warm, and bottle shape and size, I'm not sure how they could do a better job with the instructions.

Here's the low-down: it's as good a warmer as any I have tried, and the cooler makes it WONDERFUL for those of us living in two-story houses. I don't have to stumble down stairs in the dark as I did with my first child, which means it takes less time and I lose less sleep (new moms will appreciate this!).

Here's what I've learned about warming wide-mouthed (Avent, Soothies, etc.) bottles of various sizes:
- For wide-mouthed 6 oz. bottles coming straight from the fridge, double the water mark (for example, if you're warming 4 oz. of formula, fill the water to the 8 line).
- For wide-mouthed 10 oz. bottles coming straight from the fridge, double the water plus two (for example, if you're warming 4 oz. of formula, fill the water to the 10 line).
- For wide-mouthed bottles that are just cool (not cold), fill to the regular line plus one (for example, if you're warming 4 oz. of formula, fill the water to the 5 line).

These rules consistently work for my husband and me, and we rarely end up with a too-cool or too-hot bottle. So, after a little testing and re-testing, we've ended up being really happy with this bottle warmer!
