I bought this extention at the same time as the handsfree gate. My house has 36" doors and the gate alone was too narrow. This extention makes it work, completes the look and keeps the strenght of the gate. If you're planning to use the handsfree gate in a wide door or hallway this is a must have.Customer Review: Still not quite the right size

We have a doorway between the front room and kitchen that must be a non-standard width, because the gate alone is a smidge too small, but when we added the extension, the whole unit wouldn't fit in the doorway. We ordered the Hand's Free Baby Gate, by First Years, however it was just a little too narrow for our door. With this extension it fits and works perfectly. It also matches the gate exactly, so you can't even tell we are using an extension! Bottom line: It does it's job, and it works well.Customer Review: Works as Promised

I purchased four extenders for my two gates and they were very easy to install and didn't compromise the stability of the gates at all. I think they are a little overpriced. I purchased the gate and it did not fit. I have a puppy that likes to travel down the hall and do his business under the beds! I was so excited when I read on the gate that an extension was available.
IT WORKS GREAT. The whole system is VERY stable and easy to use.
