We hesitated to purchase this due to the many negative reviews ... but we've been very happy with this item. Works as advertised, and no issues whatsoever.
The operating instructions are simple: (1) Press the 8oz or 5oz button, (2) Press the ON button. That's pretty much it. For us, it's worked very reliably ... it usually takes about 6-8 minutes to warm 8oz of formula from cold (ice pack/refrigerator) to room temperature.
Works like a champ!
(We are using this in a relatively new Toyota... in case this helps)

I registered for this item and received it as a gift, why, I don't know. I never really even travel by car too often. I decided to try it out the one time I did travel, my son was 4 months old.. I plugged it in and waited and waited and waited and the item never ever heated up. It just remained cold. I tried to take it back to Babies R Us but the return time had already passed so they wouldn't take it back. My advice on this item is, don't buy it, even if it does work, you will probably never use it.Customer Review: Great warmer!

I also had a problem with this product not working... at first. I pushed the wrong button first (I selected on, then the bottle size). After unplugging and replugging it back in, selecting the bottle size first, then pushing the on button, it worked like a charm. It took 20 minutes to heat the bottle, but it was cold from the fridge and it had 11 oz of formula in it. 20 minutes almost got it TOO warm. I use standard Avent bottles.
This is my first portable bottle warmer, and I LOVE IT!

After I returned this and then bought it again after reading a review like the one that I am writing, I figured out how this works. It does a great job. The key is to follow the instructions. This means that the order by which you hit the buttons matters. You need to first select the 5 oz. or 8 oz. button first. Then you hit the on button. It will not work if you do it in reverse. It will heat up 6 oz. refrigerated formula in 20 minutes. Good Luck!!Customer Review: Life saver!

I was a little weary when I bought this because of all the bad reviews but needed something for the road. This bottle warmer works great! We used it for about 5 months and never had a problem with it. It does take about 15 to 20 min to heat a 6 oz bottle but we just planned ahead and started heating the bottle before it was time to eat. This was a total life saver and we will use it with our next child.
