Baby Products Reviews of The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May VaryCustomer Review: This has helped so much! Summary: 5 Stars
We got this from my husband's work buddies, and when I first saw it... I was a little upset. I don't believe in co-sleeping, but we found another use for it right away. We had an unbelievable cradle for our son to sleep in, but it needed a custom mattress (which we didn't have when we brought him home from the hospital). The crib was too big for him, so we set up the Close and Secure Sleeper inside of it- and he's been sleeping in it ever since!
Not only that, but as we had several day trips to our relatives during the holidays, this was unbelievably convenient to bring along. We could set it up on a bed, couch, or wherever and know that he would sleep like a log- and we didn't have to take our Pack n' Play everywhere.
Customer Review: Good price, good product Summary: 5 Stars
Hubby and I bought this last minute when a hand-me-down bassinet ended up not working out for us. I had a lot of mixed feelings about baby sleeping in bed with us but the sturdy sides of this sleeper elimnated any concerns the very first night we put our little girl down to bed in it. I know it only goes to 24 inches but that really seems like it will be enough as we do plan to transfer our little one to her crib once she is sleeping solidly through the night or once she gets too big for this sleeper... If you like the idea of co-sleeping but worry about rolling over on baby or smothering them then this is a great product- it's like baby has her own bed within your bed- and the best part of all: it makes nursing at night a snap!
Customer Review: Used it for a changing table Summary: 4 Stars
I got this because my third baby refused to sleep in bed by himself. I was sleeping in a recliner with him in my arms before deciding to break down and get this. Unfortunately, he wouldn't sleep in this thing either.
However, I have a 3.5 and a 2 year old also. This was great on the couch as a relatively safe place to put him down for 2 minutes. It was especially great as a changing table in my living room so that I didn't have to leave my two toddlers alone in the living room to go change a diaper.
I have to agree with other posters that the length runs out quickly, but frankly, by the time they run out of room, they are starting to roll around to the point that it isn't safe to leave them in it anyway.
Customer Review: Great for Preemies Summary: 4 Stars
My baby was 2lbs 8 oz when born and when she came home from the NICU she was a little more than 3lbs 1 oz. Naturally my husband and I were concerned about leaving her in a crib. This sleeper made it easy to have her adjust from being moved from the cot she was in at the hospital to our bed for the first few days at home, and then to the crib. We still use it in the crib, but now that she has started to wriggle around (not roll) we have to move her to the crib because her little feet end up hanging out of the sleeper.
Also, a second mattress cover would have been great, as the inevitable spit-ups or diaper leaks pose a constant challenge when you need to wash the case. Otherwise, this is a great buy or gift option
Customer Review: get this product, not from here Summary: 5 Stars
First let me say one caveat, order this product from walmart.com, for $36. This price is insane. But this product is so fabulous, I had to write a review. Could it be longer? yes, that would be lovely... But this product enabled us to move our son into his own room by 5 weeks and he sleeps from 11-5 or 6 at 7 weeks, and then from that time again until 9. We used this in our bed with him in the beginning (we also swaddled him), then we used it with him in a co-sleeper beside our bed for three weeks (you could also use it in a pack and play), then we used it in his crib in his own room, and that's how we use it now. I recommend this product and swaddle mes if you are into getting a decent night's sleep as soon as possible.
