Customer Review: Great for co-sleeping with a very young infant

We used this co-sleeper for the first couple of months of our baby's life. Even though we were experienced co-sleepers with our older son, newborns are just so small, we didn't feel comfortable putting our tiny baby directly in our bed until he was a little bigger and more hardy. By the time he outgrew it (at about 2 months; he weighed 13 lbs and was 23 inches long) we felt that he was ready to sleep in our bed without it. It would have been nice to use it a little longer except for the fact that he outgrew it rather quickly and his legs started hanging out over the sides. Even so, for those first 2 gruelling months, having him near us through the night with nursing and changing made things much easier, so it was a worthwhile purchase. The light on top isn't very helpful because the beam faces upwards, so you can't really use it for diaper changes or things like that. The product is well made and is very portable--easy to take on trips. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who is wanting to try out co-sleeping right away with their infant but isn't wanting to make the financial investment of the side-car style co-sleepers.Customer Review: Love It !!!! We bought this item 2 days before my son was born (4 weeks premature) because I planned to breastfeed and co-sleeping was recomended. I wouldn't normally let my baby sleep in the bed with me without this bed!
It has a flap on the top that goes down around the mattress on your bed to keep it from sliding all over the place. The little built in night light gives enough light to do a diaper change and to look for pacifiers in the dark, check baby's breathing, etc. without having to turn on a lamp. I love being able to lay my arm over the side to comfort him as he falls back asleep too. Travels great as well. It only comes with one sheet, but I have found that regular bassinet sheets fit well. A friend had the traditional bassinet and gave me some baby stuff with sheets in it. I didn't think I had a use for them until we had a leaky diaper and needed another sheet. I thought of the bassinet ones and low and behold, they fit perfectly!

5 month old will soon be too long for it!

I'm a disabled mom of two, and we got this for our younger daughter. This bed was a wonderful way to have my baby safe, yet within easy reach in the middle of the night. My baby was a preemie, so she fit in the bed until she was about 5-6 months old.
If you have a larger/longer baby, you may not get as much use out of the sleeper. You should also be aware that it's fairly wide - so it's probably most comfortable to use in a king-sized bed.
We loved how portable it was. It made for a very easy place for her to take naps if we weren't at home. And my hubby could move it from one room to another without waking her up. It's also great to use later to trasition a baby into their crib.
Some people complained about not being able to have an extra fitted mattress sheet - I just wrapped & tucked a receiving blanket around the mattress for an extra sheet and it worked fine. My daughter spit up a lot, and unless it completely soaked through to the mattress cover, we would just tear off the dirty receiving blanket and replace with a clean one.

We thought this would be great to have the little one sleeping in between us with no worries about blankets getting on his face or us sleeping too close to him. The few times he would sleep in it, it was nice because we felt like we could sleep more soundly. However, he hated sleeping in it. I know that infants are supposed to sleep on very firm surfaces to prevent any risk of suffocation, and I was SO into following every single safety protocol. But after three nights of almost NO sleep whatsoever we had to give up and let him sleep on the bed. It isn't much softer, but a enough so that he will actually sleep. Also, if you are nursing, you have to sit up, lift your baby out of this, and then when nursing is done, lift him/her back into it which (in our case) woke him up and he required rocking and/or more nursing to go back to sleep (that is, if he would go back to sleep...which often he wouldn't). In short, I think this is a great product if your child will sleep in it. Ours baby, unfortunately, would have nothing to do with it.Customer Review: Great, if your baby will sleep in it
