I have been breastfeeding my daughter now for 5 weeks and everytime i go to work twice a week my baby was feeding from medela and born free bottles but when i would get home , my daughter would latch all wrong and it would take me two days to fix her latch! These nipples are perfect but the bottle does contain BPA! I was hesitant to buy thesr for three whole weeks then my nipple cracked one night and OMG!!! So as a chemist i know that BPA is only expelled through heat so I DO NOT ever store, heat or sterilize these bottles..instead wash with ice cold bottled water and store your milk in medela or bornfree bottles and even heat the milk in these then transfer or use bottle liners!hopefully they make a bpa free bottle soon and then i'll give them five stars...be careful but if you breastfeed and pump..these bottle are PERFECT..the nipples are just PERFECT! I bought this first to try when I noticed the single small bottle in a Target. They didn't have this bottle available 4 years ago when my first child was born. I bought the brand new Platex VentAire for the newest addition and they leaked everytime. What a waste of money that was and you even have to buy new nipples as the baby gets older. NOT WITH FIRST YEARS BREAST FLOW!! Not only did my son go back and forth from my breast to the bottle daily at 1 month old but I never had to buy new nipples because he controlled the flow. I stopped breastfeeding when he was 6 months and have continued to use the same bottles. He is now 9 months old. I've recommended these to everyone I know. It made my life so much easier. The only thing is I don't see a lot of advertisements for these and I think First Years needs to get the word out more. I LOVE THESE BOTTLES!! Hi! On the advice of a friend, I registered for and received these Breastflow bottles as shower gifts. I am REALLY looking forward to nursing again (my 2nd baby) and then using these bottles as an alternative convenience and when I return to work. I just found out that Learning Curve/The First Years has distributed BPA-free versions to replace the old bottles and I'm in the process of returning my two current packages of the bottles (which do NOT say BPA-free) for the new LABELED BPA-free versions. I spoke with one of the company's representatives and he said that I should be able to return these and exchange them with no problems. Also, their website now refers to the bottles as "BPA-free" and the boxes/packaging now says "BPA-free." So check their website and/or call their 1-800 customer care number and speak with a rep. I read a lot of reviews about these bottles, not only here, but at Babies R Us. I was so excited to try them for the first time when my baby was 4 weeks old. I gave them three stars because he didn't take them very well at first and it took A LOT of practice. My husband always fed him but every time we gave him to someone else to feed him, it always took a little bit for the baby and also whoever was feeding him to get the suction going. I really like them but at the same time, they make feeding a little more frustrating and he sucks a lot of air unless you shove the bottle in his mouth. I hope others have better luck with them. I continue to use them when I'm not breastfeeding and it's definitely gotten better but it took awhile for me and baby to get used to them.Customer Review: Best Bottle Ever for Premie Breast Fed baby

Both my sons were 4 weeks early. My first son would NOT take a bottle unless desperate and screaming. We tried multiple bottles and it made no difference. I saw this bottle at a friends house a few weeks before my second son was born but I was not able to find it as the bottles had been recalled for BPA issues. We were using the Avent system and our son did not do well with them and got a very upset stomach from them. I picked these up as soon as I saw they were back on the shelf at a local store. From moment one my son latched right on and happily took thse even if the breastmilk in them was ice cold. What a wonderful product that has made me much more comfortable with my decision to goo back to work and continue exclusively feeding breast milk to my premie son.
