Customer Review: *Worst* Engineered Product Ever
Summary: 1 Stars

Bottom line: This product will either leave the contents of your baby bottle either cold or scalding, and trust me, it's the absolutely *last* thing you want with a baby balling his / her eyes out at 3 am.

Detail: The problem with the temperature regulation of the unit is that it depends on (1) initial bottle temperature and (2) amount of water added into the receptacle. However, the engineers at this company were too lazy to run exhaustive testing on the amount of water necessary depending on the starting conditions of the bottle. Instead, they created a useless chart and included a "measuring" tube so you can add water with two starting conditions: room temp or "cold". Then right on the unit, you will find the following phrase: "If your bottle is too cool after heating, try adding a little more water next time. If your bottle is too hot after heating, try adding a little less water next time". Nice. Thanks for making the customer do the R&D you should have done prior to selling this useless product.

Customer Review: Pretty Good
Summary: 4 Stars

We started out warming bottles in a pot on the stove. It was worked out to a science: turn the heat to 6, set the bottle in, wait 4 minutes.

With this bottle warmer, it's taken a little bit of time, but we're close to bottle warming being a science again. The trick is to fill your bottles with about the same amount of milk/formula each time. That way, you won't have to refer to the chart in the instructions. That's right, there's a chart that tells you how much water to put into the warmer based on the size of the bottle, how full that bottle is, and whether you have breast milk or formula inside. It's annoying in the beginning, but if you always put the same amount of the same liquid in the same size bottle, you'll be fine.

Aside from that, we like that the warmer can always be plugged in. It shuts itself off after it warms a bottle. No worries about your house burning down or your bottle melting if you leave it in the warmer too long.

Customer Review: So disappointed!!!
Summary: 2 Stars

I registered this item for my Baby Shower, but I ended up so disappointed because even though is compact (great on your countertop), reasonable price, and quick!, it's very hard to find the correct water measurement. You either get it too hot or too cold and you have to run cold/hot water under the sink for it to warm up or cool off. Who has time for that when you have a baby crying telling that he is hungry.
This would have been a great product if the actual instructions would work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS []!!!!
Jan 24, 2003 - I am rewriting the review since i finally figured out the problem of being too hot and cold. This system works if you dont make the bottles ahead and put them in the refrigerator; in other words, make the bottle right then and there, so you cant have the bottles already prepared with the formula but it only takes 2 seconds to do, and if you have a hungry baby just prepare it a few minutes before you think he's going to start crying.

Customer Review: Helpful but be careful
Summary: 3 Stars

This bottle warmer definitely is useful - it does what you want it to do. However, always make sure you test the temperature of the milk before you give it to your baby as it can be to hot (or too cool) sometimes. This is because there are many variables that affect the ending temperature:

- The starting temperature of the milk (from the referigerator, freezer, room temperature etc.)
- The type of bottle (i.e., glass, plastic, etc.),
- Bottle size (diameter as well as height)
- Amount of water you put in here

As a corollary, be careful with the condensation off the bottle as that can also be quite hot.

As far as functionality is concerned, it does what you want, but of course effectiveness is based on the variables I mentioned for temeprature. The only part I wish this had that some other manufacturers build into the model is an ability to use the steam to steralize baby paraphenalia, such as pacifiers.

Customer Review: Very good bottle warmer
Summary: 4 Stars

I don't use a whole bunch of bottles since I nurse, but occasionally I thaw out some breast milk for when my daughter and I are going to be out in very public places for a long period of time. This works great. I just put the milk in the warmer and in about four minutes it is done. Sometimes however, when I have a 7 ounce pack it takes a few times through it to get it all the way warmed. Since I am using this for when I am out it isn't a big deal that it takes awhile, especially because you have to wait for the warmer to cool all the way down before you can use it again. However, when I use it to heat milk from the frig so my husband can feed her, it works great. I wouldn't suggest walking away from it because sometimes it gets too hot when the whole four minutes is given to heat. Walking away while heating a bottle is not wise anyway, so it really isn't a problem standing there for it and it is a whole lot quicker than boiling water.
