I think possibly the Worst product ever made. I registered for Avent, but my sister was cheap and got me this p.o.s., broke down in two weeks! (the on button wouldn't stay on..) Yes, I read the directions, called customer care, went online, etc etc) The Avent sterilizer works out to be only a bit more and is such a superior product to this (and you get two free bottles!!)
With a newborn, it was such an inconvenience to deal with poor workmanship. I'm just hoping to spare some of you out there some aggravation- thank god for review sections :)

Nice steamer I use it has a back up if I have not washed dishes all day. I like my advent microwave steamer better. It is easier to use and holds more. This one has 3 different racks you can insert for various product and a nice rack for small stuff like nipples and pacifiers. I just wish it held more. That is the only complaint I have and it takes a lot longer to steam then the advent. Advent is 4 min compared to this one's 13 min. I have not had the problem others do so far about it not turning on.Customer Review: Zero stars!!! Avoid this product at all costs!!!!

We received this product off of our baby registry a couple of months before our due date and never used it until a week before the delivery. It worked the first time, but never again! I repeat we used it one time and then it stopped working, it just would not turn on!!!!! I asked the retailer for store credit but it was after their return period. I then sent a email to The First Years explaining the situation and never received a reply. Lousy product!

All I can say is that most of the people with the bad reviews must have had very bad luck with this product... the sterilizer was handed down to me by my sister; she lend it to a sister-in-law after she finished using it with her third child, and then I got it for my first son and now my second one is using it. I even think the sister-in-law used it with her first son too, that would make this the 7th baby used with, anyway, it's still working!Customer Review: Junk

We too had problems with turning the sterilizer on. The unit would not turn on when the lever was pressed, but several presses got it to work a couple of times. After about 6 uses it died completely. Not sure what the hard part about making a hotplate that is switched on by depressing a lever (like an electric kettle) is exactly, but these guys found it.
This unit also left a LOT of condensation in the stuff we sterilized.
