My son has had this Coaster-Gliding seat for about 7 months.
I purchased it pre-owned when he was about one month old. He has used it since and he is going on 8 months (16.5 lbs/27inches). He has finally outgrown it. He is becoming too tall, but most importantly he has reached the age were he can sit up on his own. He loved pushing up on the coaster and activate the lights and music. So we are all sad to see it go. Today we are putting it on the market for another happy baby to enjoy. We highly recommend it for active babies, or even for mellow babies as the coaster offers a nice place for the baby to sit/sleep/eat near mom or dad while they are busy in the kitchen, doing laundry or are engaged in other activities that would preclude the baby due to safety. The coaster has happy/soothing music options with volume control as well as a relax/vibration mode that can be combined with the glider stop for a soothing (non gliding) nap. In our home it was an essential item and our son enjoyed it very much. When he was younger and could not reach the foot base to activate the sounds and lights, I used a video tape (VHS) in between to provide him footing. The VHS is light enough not to damage the mesh and allow vibrations through to activate light and music.
The fabric seat can be removed to be washed (in case of spillage or accidental soiling), by pressing the side buttons to release the arch bar that holds the seat. It is snug (it should be) so just slide it carefully in/out to wash/set.
The coaster has two separate battery compartments, one that feeds the relax/vibration mode and another that feeds the lights and music. We installed batteries when we received the item, and have only changed them once since. The Coaster is used daily or nearly daily, at times multiple times a day.
Some people mentioned sliding of the unit when the baby pushes. Our unit has two rubber inserts that prevented it from sliding. (it may be a feature that was added subsequent models.
If your little one wants to have a quite time (without napping) there is an option for the unit to play several melodies. if you want your little one to sleep, switch it to the lullaby setting.
Things to keep in mind if you are thinking of acquiring/or are using one for your beloved li'l one: Per manufacturer's instructions, when the child can sit up, he/she should no longer use the coaster as he/she could tip over and/or child has reached 25 pounds whichever comes first. Always use the harness! Safety first.
