My daughter is 6 weeks old so I cannot comment about the use of the tub for an older baby. Using the sling for an infant can be challenging/dangerous because it does not really craddle the baby. My daughter slips down, her feel fall over the sides, and there is not enough give in the fabric for the slind to cup her in. While I always have my hands on her while she is in the tub, it would be nice to have the sling make her more secure in the torso area so I could have more freedom to actually bathe her. I found my daughter almost fell out of the sling, and would have if my hand was on her torso. My daughter is a big newborn (10.8lbs) so her size may have something to do with the lack of safety of the sline, but she is not mature enough to sit up in the tub yet. Just be very careful with the sling and your newborn.Customer Review: Great infant tub!

The sling is the best feature about this tub! When you're bathing an infant, especially when they are only one or two months old, you can feel that they are securely held in the sling and aren't going to slip down or to the side in an awkward position.
I was never able to get it to fit in the sink because the water handles in the sink prevented it from being secure. It felt lopsided and unsafe. I usually placed it in the bathtub because I liked to unplug it as I was finishing bathing my daughter so that I could rinse her with clean water and not have her sit too long in the soapy water.
Purchased another one recently as a baby shower gift and the mom to be loved it. Someone had given her the tub she had placed on her list and she ended up returning that one and kept this one.

I LOVE this tub. I have tried other baby tubs, and I prefer this one because of its size, the no-slip padding, the angle of the recline, and the sling. I used the sling while my son was under 2 months old, and have been using the tub without the sling since then. The sling is very useful for sponge baths and tiny babies, although you do have to hold the baby's head the whole time to keep him from slipping (but most parents know to do this with a tiny baby anyway). The tub is great for in the sink or in the regular tub. My only complaint is that the drain plug does NOT change color if the water is too hot or too cold. DO NOT RELY ON THIS FEATURE!!! Buy a good tub thermometer if you are not sure what temperature your baby's bath should be. Otherwise, another great product from First Years!Customer Review: A good tub for the price

I'm a first time mom and had my daughter 3 months ago. We received this tub as a shower gift and have been using the tub for a while. It does the job, but like most products it has its pros and cons.
Pros:
- Can be used from infant to toddler
- Infant-sling support baby well enough
- Drain hole on the bottom makes emptying water easy
- Decent tub for the price
Cons:
- Infant keeps sliding off the seat and infant sling, so parent needs to frequently readjust baby
- The Infant-sling keeps baby almost completely out of the water, so baby gets cold quickly
- leaves very little area for parent to scoop water to bath baby when baby is seated in the tub
- Doesn't fit on all bathtubs and/or sinks.

I bought this tub when we were pregnant with our second child, because we had an awful leaky one for our first baby. We are now on baby #4 and this tub is just as wonderful as the day we brought it home. The sling is great for sponge baths before the umbilical cord stump falls off. It's comfortable for baby in all stages of growth, and even now, the little plug will still change colors if the water is too hot. It fits nicely in our sink so I can give baths while standing comfortably rather than hunching over. The little well at the end is great for holding baby shampoo. I hang the hooded bath towel on the cabinet door for wrapping the baby up right afterward, and baths are very pleasant with this tub!
