Baby Products Reviews of The First Year's Infant To Toddler Tub with Sling BlueCustomer Review: We love it! Summary: 5 StarsMy daughter is 4 months old, and I still love this tub. The sling was so nice in the beginning. Now she is using the infant reclined seat, but I left the sling attached at that end, so the foam would give extra padding. She kicks and plays now! She loves it. I use it in the bathtub, because we have a heater in the bathroom, and our kitchen is a bit cool for winter baths. It will be great as she grows though; I won't have to buy a bath seat for a while, if ever. I can just use this!
Customer Review: Fabulous Tub! Summary: 5 StarsReceived this tub as a baby shower gift and I think it's wonderful. I loved using the hammock when my son was very small. He was safe and secure and it was really easy to bathe him. Now he's almost seven months old and we're using the "upright" position since he's sitting up. One of the features I really love, is the plug in the bottom of the tub turns white if the water gets too hot...so cool! It also fits perfectly into a kitchen sink. A great tub, for an awesome price. Highly recommended!
Customer Review: love/hate relationship with this tub Summary: 3 StarsI loved this tub while my twin girls were small enough to use the mesh.
However, when they grew too big for the mesh, they used the slant side, which was a problem because it's flat (vs concave) and the girls would slide from side to side since there was nothing to keep them in place. I would have to roll up a towel to keep them from sliding to the side & having their head/shoulder wedged uncomfortably against the side.
Also, if the water level is high enough to keep the babies warm, their butts tended to float up and over the seat area which makes them slide down into the water. I had to keep a hand on their bottoms the whole time to keep them from sliding down.
When they were old enough to use the sitting-up side, I loved this tub once more. The notch on this side kept my babies safe & secure. The babies loved sitting up & splashing in their tub.
I just gave this tub away, since my girls can sit up in the big tub now. I probably should have kept it for travel, but too late now. Overall I am not quite happy with this tub for the above reasons. I listed some other pros and cons below:
Pros:
This works well with our under-mount kitchen sink with a divider in the middle. This tub has a notch on one side to accommodate sink dividers, which is nice because it keeps the tub stable and angles the tub toward the center of the sink which is key for not having tub overflow all over your kitchen counter.
The plug changing color if the water is too hot is a nice feature, though kind of silly because 1) who wouldn't test the water with a hand? 2) it doesn't turn color until the water is already too hot for me, let alone a baby, and 3) it's way at the bottom, so if the tub was full you wouldn't be able to see the plug well at all.
The mesh sling is nice, dries well, and is very easily adjustable and supportive of baby.
Cons:
(potential con) If you have a drop-in sink with a rim, such as our bathroom sink is, this tub will not sit over it.
The inclined seat back is flat, rather than concave, so that baby can slide from side to side and get stuck with her head against the wall.
Customer Review: I hate to give up this tub! Summary: 5 StarsWe've had great luck with this tub. Many of the negative reviews seen to focus on the hump in the middle, and it must depend on the relative size and muscle development of the child. Our son has fit just perfectly. The only problem we had with the sling, was our son did seem suspended too high--but we just added more water, so that the tub was full to the brim. He was then high enough up that his back didn't rest on the hump and he stayed warm in the water.
It is a big tub, so we have used it in the bathtub ever since his second bath on the kitchen counter when he peed on our toaster oven. Which is sort of irrelevant to the tub, but highlights the dangers (an hilarity) of a bath in the kitchen.
Once he got bigger, he fit just fine in both sides of the tub. Sadly, at 10 months he had gotten too big to wash easily and he can stand up, which is awkard with the shape of the tub. The first time we bathed him without the tub he CRIED! But I bribed him with his favorite toy and now all is well.
Customer Review: Love it Summary: 5 StarsThis is a great tub. The newborn sling feature is key! We are still using the sling with our 12-lb 3-month-old. It's nice because you can then use both hands to bathe the baby instead of having to hold him up. The other great feature is that it is designed to fit over half of a double kitchen sink, so you can stand up while bathing the baby instead of kneeling over your bathtub.
