Baby Products Reviews of The First Year's Infant To Toddler Tub with Sling, Blue

Customer Review: Not flawless
Summary: 3 Stars

When my son was first born I was terrified of giving him a bath by myself. He could wiggle out of that hammock in a split second without two hands holding him in place, so a bath meant both me and my husband had to be home. (Unluckily for us my husband is often away on business.) He didn't seem to weigh enough to keep the hammock in place (he was 8lbs at birth, so not small by any means) yet the hammock feature is for a newborn?... One day I accidently forgot to reattach the hammock after laundering it and was shocked to find that even though he was still only a few weeks old, the contour of the tub was enough that I could steady him with one hand and wash with him the other. If the hammock works for you, great, but I'm throwing mine away. Another complaint I have is in regards to the temp. gauge at the bottom -- after three months of use it no longer works, even when I tried testing it with scalding hot water. It terrifies me to think that someone who doesn't know any better might rely on it! I would also caution potential buyers to inspect the bottom and assess whether is will fit in your sink. We have double sink and this tub does not come close to fitting, making quite a mess when I go to fill it.
It does the job, but I have to wonder if there is a better tub out there.

Customer Review: Great for the first few months.....
Summary: 3 Stars

I got this bathtub as a baby shower gift and began using it as soon as baby's cord fell off. I loved the fact that I didn't have to hunch over the tub which hurts my back, knees, elbows and gets me all wet in the process. The tub fit right over the sink and was so convient!! The sling worked great and when baby got a little bigger we just used the reclining infant position. Then at about 4 1/2 mo, I started disliking this tub. My baby was finally mobile enough to enjoy the splashes she could make but, she would slide down the recline and I felt that the bump in the middle, which is supposed to be like a little "seat" to hold her place, was very uncomfortable on her back. I was constantly either holding her in place (which the bump is supposed to do), or pushing her up so that her butt sat in the "seat." The bump doesn't work to keep the baby from slipping and sliding all over the tub, especially after the baby discovers the job of splashing. I tried to use the toddler side of the tub, but, she looked so uncomfortable! She couldn't quite sit up on her own so she would lean on either side of the tub. On to another tub....Overall, I liked this tub enough in the first couple of months to recommend it. After baby starts kicking/splashing in the tub though, I wouldn't recommend it.

Customer Review: Good Tub
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this tub because of the "Hammock" for the newborns, I had read how the other brands hammocks would slip off the tub, THIS does not happen with this tub. This tubs hammock is very secure and safe. I had a space saving tub with my first child and the foam on it was always becoming nasty with bacteria, even though I cleaned it, This has NOT happend with is tub and I have been using it for six months now. It does work very well at the kitchen sink, but you still have to take it to the tub, flip it over and dry it out. It stores easy on a changing table shelf, this is great if you have limited space. I now use it in the big bath tub, because at six months my son splashes way too much, and I would have water all over the kitchen if I still bathed him at the sink.
And even thought the plug is supposed to turn white if the water is too hot, PLEASE DO NOT RELY ON IT. I noticed it never changed colors, so with out my child in it, I tested it by putting hotter and hotter water in it. The water was steaming and scalding before the plug ever turned white. Even with this, I still rated the tub with five stars because no one should depend on a piece of rubber to keep thier baby safe, you should always check the water (your elbow is best) before putting you precious baby in the water.

Customer Review: We love this tub!

When had orginally registered for a tub that was supposed to "fold" away nicely...that tub wasn't much smaller folded so we returned it and decided on the Sure Comfort Deluxe. We love this tub...when our daughter was a newborn the hammock worked great, when she was a little older the reclining seat worked great, now at age nine months the toddler seat works great because she can sit completely upright (she started to not like the recline position at about 5 months). A friend of mine has a different baby tub that only has a reclining position and now had to go buy another tub so her son can sit upright! Who needs two baby bath tubs!!

As far as the comments about the "green safety plug" not working...the plug in our tub does turn white when the water is too warm, however, we do not rely on this feature, nor should anyone else. Also, as far as though "safety" ducks, etc, that have the word "HOT" on them that turns white when the water is too warm...the couple of safety ducks we received as gifts have always said HOT even when we placed them in lukewarm-to-cold water. And now, nine months later, permenantly say "HOT" Myself along with a couple of my other mom friends all have permenantly "HOT" safety ducks..ha, ha..

Customer Review: So glad I chose this tub!

This is the first review I have written on any item but tonight after bathing my 7month old son in it I realized how great it's been and how surprised I am that I have been able to use it for this long. I never was able to use the hammock feature however. My son was over 9lbs and we tried the hammock once but he just seemed to big for it. The infant side of the tub was perfect for him and we used that for about 5 months and we now use the toddler side at 7months and he is still a big baby. I thought for sure he would outgrow it but he just loves it and when he sees me take it out and fill it up he gets so excited. I use it on my kitchen island which has a sink so it has been incredibly convenient. It is true that even with the plug the tub needs to be turned over to empty the water but I don't think that is such a big deal. I am now trying to figure out how to make the transition to the big tub. I feel that I've been spoiled by this tub and the thought of having to bend down in the bathroom doesn't thrill me. I feel that this tub is extremely safe. My son is very active and has never tried to get out and has never slipped or anything like that. I highly recommend this tub!! I have friends that have gone thru several tubs trying to find the right one.. this is it!!!
