I bought these because my 1 year old has a very runny nose and rubs it raw on his sheets while he sleeps. I wanted something soft, hoping that would help. These are very soft and, like the name states, flannel. I have only washed them about 6 times and they are not pilling up yet like some of the reviews state. I do wash them on gentle and wash on a low cycle as well. I bought these and the ABC organic sheets at the same time to compare. These are soft, but the ABC sheets are even softer and I like a little better. Both have helped my son's nose and he snuggles right into them. I used to put on just a regular, cotton sheet and would wrestle the mattress every time to get them on. They were very standard, not very soft and eventually ripped with all the wrestling. These are so much nicer and wished I bought these from the beginning. I would buy again and have had no problems with the sheets wearing down or shrinking so far. The natural color is definitely a cream color and goes with everything.
