I really liked the reviews of this mobile and registered for it even though it did not match the decor of the room. It's real cute and I like the classical music; But... Why is the speaker on the inside of the crib, behind the bumper? And, Why is the motor so noisy?I guess it depends on your motive, if you are trying to stimulate the baby, then the blocks clinking together and the noise from the motor (louder than the music, behind the bumper)are okay. And, let's face it, most infants would not notice. If you want the baby to calm down and go to sleep, then I recommend pulling out the moving parts to make it stop moving and letting the child enjoy the music.
Over all, I would recommend it over a wind up pastel, any day.

This mobile looks very strange to us--a cube, a pyramid, and a sphere, brightly colored and with random appendages--but our baby daughter sure seems to love it! She often squeals with delight each time the yellow pyramid goes by, to our delight as well.
If you're expecting to get a mobile to put your baby to sleep, though, this is not the item to get. It certainly lives us to the billing of a "stimulating" mobile.
The classical music is very nice, although be warned: the packaging claims 15 minutes of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart, leading you to believe that there's 45 minutes of music total, but it's really only 5 minutes of each composer. It doesn't matter to baby though, as she likes repetition.

When I first put the mobile on the crib and tried it before I put my daughter in it to sleep, I thought that this was never going to work, because the plastic shapes made alot of noise. Then I tried it with my daughter and she absolutely loved it. She liked looking at the funny looking characters and the shapes. And she truly enjoys the music. Now that she is 5 months old...all we have to do is lay her down and turn the mobile on and she falls asleep.
Thank goodness that there are batteries...I would hate to continue to go in her room to turn it on.
The only bad thing: they you use alot of batteries. But when you think about it....if it helps your child fall asleep...it is worth it!
Customer Review: A wonderful mobile - will entertain your baby!

I love this mobile and highly recommend it. I bought it for my son when he was 2 months old and he immediately was attracted to it. His whole body wiggles as he watches it! I can safely leave him in his crib for a few minutes because I know he is entertained and stimulated, and that's doubly nice -- time for me to get some things done, and fun time for him! I didn't have any problems installing it nor did it scratch our crib, plus it has lasted just fine (only had to replace the batteries once and we use it daily!). Two features I like are that it stops after 15 minutes automatically, and the arm swivels so you can easily move the mobile out of the way to pick up your child. I would order it again in a heartbeat!Customer Review: You MUST own this mobile!!

When my son was about 6 weeks old we bought this for him. He loved looking at it and he would watch it with his little legs kicking away. This was such a help for me, it was the only way that I could do anything when he was born. I would place my son in his crib and play the mobile and voila I had a few minutes to do the dishes or pick up my home or wash up. I loved this mobile so much (as did my son) that I bought it for 3 friends that were having babies as well. Also the music was excellent and had a rich tone. There was also a high or low feature which helped control the volume a bit. I spent 40.00 for this and I would have spent 100 if I had to. We used this several times a day until he was 6 mos old.
