Customer Review: Fun for baby, pleasant for parents

Our grumpy, colicky baby was mesmerized by this mobile. Its bright colors were fun for her to watch, and we (her parents) like the funky shaped creatures. The music is simple enough for her to enjoy, but interesting for us to listen to as well. The mobile is stimulating, so I only used it for her during the day, for entertainment. When I put her to sleep, I would lift up the mobile arm slightly, detaching it from the music box, so it wouldn't move and only the music would play.
Now my daughter is 9 months, and we're still getting use out of the mobile. I have put away the hanging part, but the music box still is attached to her crib. When she wakes up and is waiting for us to get her, she turns on the music box herself. It's great to see her learning to entertain herself.

I bought this because it plays for 15 minutes and my wind up only lasted for about 2 minutes before I had to go wind it up again. I also thought you couldn't go wrong with classical music. I expected that they would have chosen better known songs than what they did; I don't like any of the 3 songs. The mobile circles around on a slant, and they have 3 pieces on each arm that slide up and down as it goes around. They make a scraping noise that my husband and I did not care for at all. It was also not as easy to attach securely to the crib - the top piece (the yellow hook) is flexible and does not stay hooked over the crib as well as other mobiles. The motor is also rather loud. I returned this and bought a different type. My son liked it, but he likes his new one too.Customer Review: This produt was a lifesaver for us!!!!

Our son was so colicky for the first 16 weeks and kicked and screamed at the "pretty" mobile that coordinated with his crib and nursery decor. When my husband suggested this one at the store, we were so sleep deprived that I didn't care that the mobile looks like Fraggle Rock on crack. The music is so soothing and the mobile definitely captured our son's attention so much that he would laugh and smile and kick. We continued to use the music box portion of the mobile long after our son outgrew the mobile portion. The batteries last for a substantial period and we even passed it on the a family member after we were done with it. Now that we are expecting our second child, I wouldn't even consider another mobile. Definitely worth every penny!!!!Customer Review: Wonderful Product!

My sister, a cognitive psychologist, explained why the different components of the mobile are attractive and developmentally appropriate for babies, but the main selling point to me is that it gives me time to take a shower. Other good points: the music is not too loud; it is not irritating even when heard multiple times per day; we have not yet needed to replace the batteries; it is sturdy and simple to install. Of course, our baby is only one data point, but I've worked in a NICU and seen many infants enjoying this exact mobile, which is why I registered for it in the first place.Customer Review: Wonderful Product!
