Customer Review: This mobile is OUTSTANDING, but there are a couple quirks.
Summary: 4 Stars
This mobile was a life saver. It is so interesting and intriguing to watch all of the pieces that move as it rotates, that even I'M put in a trance. My son showed interest in it as early as 2-weeks old. Now that he's 13 months old, he still uses the music portion of the mobile, with the actual mobile removed, and he can easily operate the buttons himself.
My only complaints are:
1.) This is a heavy mobile, so sometimes, during rotation, the whole thing will fall of to the side. Once or twice the whole thing had fallen on my son, but he didn't seemed bothered by it.
2.) The bolt that screws it to the railing of the crib is slightly small, and when the weight of the mobile pulls the mobile to the side, the whole thing removes itself from the crib.
These were things that didn't happen to often, and we were able to improvise solutions.

It is a pretty mobile with lots of interesting things to look at for your baby, but after using it for last six months, I cannot recommend it.First, this mobile is LOUD. The motor is not too bad, but the turning mechanism is VERY loud with very annoying clicking sound. It also has small plastic parts that slide up and down as the mobile turns and it also makes a terrific racket. If you are looking for a mobile to entertain your baby, this is it. If you looking for this mobile to soothe your baby - you need to get something else.
Second, it broke within 5 months. The arm part that connects the mobile to the base comes apart. Sometimes when you put it together, the connection does not get set and the mobile does not turn. We fudged with this thing for several months before it finally died on us - so no more turning. Very shoddy quality for something this expensive.

We originally got this mobile because of the classical music and interesting colors and shapes that were said to be great for our daughter. It doesn't match with her nursery at all, but that doesn't matter, because this is the best mobile I've ever seen! She loved it. When we got it, she'd lay there and look at it and coo at the shapes for at least 20 minutes, which gave me time to shower or do other things that aren't really possible to do while holding a newborn in your arms. She is 9 months old and we just had to get rid of it because she was tall enough to stand in her crib and pull on the shapes, and I didn't want her to break it. It still worked fine, though, and I'd reccommend it to anyone. I think they have one with a remote control now too, which would be great for those times that you want to turn it on, but don't want baby to see you and get agitated.
Customer Review: Something you MUST invest in!

After reading reviews about this mobile, I wasn't convinced that this was the best mobile to buy for my daughter. However, I bought it anyway to give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did. The day we brought her home from the hospital, we played it while we were changing her diaper (as she was crying). She immediately stopped and listened and has loved it ever since. Granted, the noise can be a bit loud from all the rings sliding (on top of the motor noise), but it's worth it. In fact she doesn't seemed bothered by it, as she's fallen asleep numerous times with it playing. I think it bothers parents more than the baby! She's now 3 months old, I can put her in her crib, play the mobile, and she's content! She loves watching it time and time again. (You'd think she'd be bored!) Definately invest the extra money and buy this moblile....your child will love it.
