Customer Review: My daughter was a colicky baby, and this mobile did help...

I bought a mobile from this same manufacturer which looks and sounds the same except the suspended items were not shapes but animals. My daughter was just 2-days old when I bought this for her. Whenever I put on the music, it puts her right to sleep like magic. The music is very soothing. They are classical tunes, and I'm not usually a fan of classical music, but within a few months, I found I had remembered all 3 tunes by heart without even trying. They are so delightful. I guess my daughter was never really fascinated with the movement of the mobile for a start. She was also a very colicky baby and cried all the time and was very hard to pacify. However, this mobile was indispensable whenever I had to put her to sleep during afternoon naps or in the night. She just could not go to sleep on her own without it. It was only until she was 2.5 years old that she was able to sleep on her own without the need for the mobile to play. I just found that today that this mobile is no longer being sold in the Animal shapes version. I wonder why? My daughter had the Animal shapes version and she learnt to identify animals and colours from it. She also adored the animals on it - a green frog, a red monkey and a blue birdie.
I am packing this mobile away now that she's 3 and no longer needs this mobile, but I'm really happy to say that this mobile was worth every penny spent, despite the mobile's selling price (which was slightly higher compared to other traditional wooden or plasticky cheaper mobiles). I'm giving this review 4/5 because I'm disappointed that they have stopped selling the Animals version of this mobile, which I think was a much more interesting theme than simple shapes... but that's just my own preference, I guess.

I purchased this mobile off of eBay to save a little money buying it used because in my opinion it is just a little pricey for buying new. I was a little worried at first because I had read a few reviews on this mobile about the motor going out rather fast and so I wasn't so sure that buying one used was the best option but I am so happy to report that I was wrong. This is the best mobile in the world, in my opinion. I don't know why on earth anyone would buy one of those typical "matching" mobiles that go with their crib bedding. I did that with our first child and it was a waste! Those things are just a waste of money because all they really do is match the bedding. They don't seem to offer any real stimulation to the baby. Let's face it, most of those mobiles come in pastel colors and babies can't even see that very well so how is it supposed to be interesting to them and calm them down?
My son is two months old and absolutely LOVES this mobile. We have a lot of trouble with him because he tends to be a very fussy baby and it's hard to find things that keep him happy for any length of time. I purchased this mobile in hopes that it would really keep him occupied so I could get things done around the house and it accomplished so much more than just that. Every time I put him in his crib and start this mobile up he immediately starts smiling and cooing at it. He kicks his legs and gets so excited every time he sees it. The best part is that it doesn't only keep him happy but it also works wonderfully for soothing him to sleep. Don't pass this one up. It is a must have for Moms and Dads.

This odd-looking, colorful, musical mobile is a terrific addition to your baby's nursery. I highly recommend it.Initially, I hesitated to purchase it because it simply did not go with the decor in my son's room. After some online research, however, I went ahead with the purchase and have been happy with the decision ever since.
My son has enjoyed this product from his first weeks. Initially, he found the music entertaining, and gradually he began to enjoy the shapes-in-motion, as well. He is a very high maintenance baby, and time and again I've turned to this mobile to provide him with fifteen minutes entertainment (and provide me with fifteen minutes rest!) It does not lull him to sleep, but those precious minutes it captivates him are worth their weight in gold! His face really lights up when he hears the music and sees the shapes begin to move...it warms my heart to see his reaction!
The product itself is constructed of quality materials and has held-up well. It takes batteries, which I've replaced three times during the eight months I've used it. The classical music selections are stimulating, yet soothing and the control pad is easy to use. It runs for fifteen minutes, through three selections of music, each time it is turned on. The shapes move in a simple, yet clever and engaging pattern as the mobile turns.
My son is now eight months old and no longer using the mobile (he's too active for a crib mobile, but we can still use the music box.) I hope that you and your baby enjoy this product while you can!
Customer Review: Great product, could stand a few improvements...

This mobile has kept our son fascinated for months. He loved looking at it from the beginning and was not over stimulated by it. The classical music idea is great, but the implementation could stand some improvement. As a musician, I can guarantee you it is OUT OF TUNE. However, it is not AS out of tune as many others I have heard out there, and it is not the usual electronic plink-plunk that is mostly out there. I also agree the motor is too noisy. I have installed my own dampener on the red ball, which helps tremendously. I love the fact you can swing this mobile out of the way. Many other mobiles I have seen do not have this feature. I also agree that it would be nice to run the mobile independently from the music. In my case, however, I would prefer to run the mobile and not the music, since my baby's stereo system plays much nicer versions of these pieces and my son just likes to look at the motion of the mobile. You can sort of achieve this effect by turning the volume down to low and then stuffing a lot of dampening material behind the speaker of the main unit. You actually CAN run the mobile as music only. All you have to do is remove the mobile pole from the main unit. The music will continue to play and the mobile is not running, so for those of you with over stimulated babies due to the visualizations, consider this as an option (yes, I agree this is a kludge, but you can make it work). Overall, this is still my favorite mobile out there, and I have played with many (and own two others as well).Customer Review: This is honestly the coolest mobile I've ever seen

I can't say enough about this mobile and I can't exactly find the words to express how cool it is. It plays 3 different classical pieces for about 15 minutes (I'm sure it says on the summary, I'm just going off memory here). It would be nice to have more variety, there's only so much I have been able to stand of the same three songs, and they repeat during those 15 minutes as well. A volume control would also be nice. With it centered over my daughter's head the speaker is awful close to her ear, I've often had to throw a rag over it to muffle it a little. Heck, if it had a silent mode and did rotating with no sounds, that would also be a nice option. Then I could select a background music and let it go.I think there's two models, one with and without a remote. Although I have the one with, I never use it.
The animals are brightly, I mean very brightly colored. Even as an adult you can't help but be drawn to it. Even though its a sinple single rotation going on, the use of gravity and physics of the individual parts make for a lot of activity to keep up with. It just fascinates my daughter. The company also has the single best rated activity mat as well, and requesting replacement parts if needed is a breeze from their site. I really like the stuff tiny love puts out. Its obviously all about the stimulation of the baby and not at all about matching a theme. I'm now trying to figure out what I can alter it to do when she grows out of it. It's just that cool.
