Baby Products Reviews of Sunshine Kids Cool Shade For Car Window, Black

Customer Review: not enough
Summary: 2 Stars

Long and short of it - I'm getting my windows professionally tinted tomorrow. This screen just isn't enough for a rear-facing baby, who's frequently blinded by sun coming through the rear window, and around the edges of this screen. If you have a rear-facing infant and won't be in the back seat to monitor the sun on her face, I'd recommend professional tinting. If you have an older child facing forward and are looking to save money ($4 vs $250) then this screen is probably a fine place to start. In fact, I wouldn't be convinced that it's essential to get my windows tinted if I hadn't tried this shade first.

But if you are going to use it and want the sun well blocked, you might buy two and cut extra strips to fit around the edges because quite a bit of light comes through around the top and sides of this shade, since it's not fitted exactly to your windows. It looks ugly, but isn't a bad temporary solution (e.g. for grandparents having the kids for the summer, or that sort of thing).

Customer Review: No regrets
Summary: 4 Stars

These are great for quick and inexpensive use, which is what I expected after reading the reviews. After patiently rubbing the air bubbles out, the ones on my Honda CRV's side windows have stayed in place for about a month now, they block sunlight quite well, and they've survived partially rolling down the windows a few times. Unfortunately, the ones on my back windows fell off within a week, perhaps due to the slightly uneven surfaces caused by the defrost strips on the glass. And if you want to completely cover your windows like I did, these take a lot of time to cut and piece together, which doesn't look very nice (they should be available in a generic large size). I don't regret this purchase, but in the long run, paying for professional tinting would be a better choice if you're lucky enough have the $.

Customer Review: Good Sun Shade
Summary: 4 Stars

Living in Atlanta and having a 10 month old in the back seat, I needed a sunshade for the window. I first tried one of those suction cup sunshades, but it failed in 10 min's. Then I found this product and I figured I give it a shot. This product is good not great. To install you simply unroll the film and stick it to the window, keeping the SunSineKids logo side facing the window. You need "TWO" people to apply this shade to the window. I tried to do it alone and failed miserably, it kept sticking to itself. Once applied, simply push out all the air bubbles, I tried to use a credit card to remove the air bubbles but it did not work, I ended up using my hand. The only reason I say this product is good and not great, is because it leaves a few air bubbles but other then that, its a nice product.

Customer Review: Easy to install - Perfect shade
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband and I have been searching for just the right shade for both our sedan and station wagons. Other products with suction cups were either too "clunky" or did not stick to the window.

Pros: Reuseable, able to be repositioned, can still see out the window, functions like any other window tint product - you can see out but others cannot see in

Cons: May not fit the whole window, can lose stick in extremely cold weather

My son likes it because he can still look out the window. If it starts to "unpeel" all we have to do is reapply it which is easy enough. Even in extreme cold all you have to do is reapply the shade. Honestly - for the money and effort this is a great product.

Customer Review: Acts Like Plastic Wrap...Cheap, Wrinkled Mess!
Summary: 1 Stars

Are you kidding me?? I spent about 20 minutes trying in vain to apply this stuff to my car window and I quickly realized that it is nearly impossible to do so without wrinkles and bubbles. This stuff is awful-looking and awful-acting. Imagine trying to apply cheap plastic wrap evenly and smoothly onto your window. Well, this is exactly the way this stuff acts. Yes, it is as difficult to handle as that. And I do not consider myself a klutz by any means; I'm very handy around the house, and in my work I often have to apply my skills to projects that I do with my hands.

What a waste of time and energy. Oftentimes, you get what you pay for. This stuff is going back just as soon as I can print out a return label!
