Baby Products Reviews of Summer Infant Swaddleme Microfleece, Blue, LargeCustomer Review: Couldn't live without these... Summary: 5 Stars
After reading "The Happiest Baby on the Block" we knew that we wanted to swaddle our son at night but weren't completely comfortable doing so with blankets that could come undone and present a hazard. We decided to try one of these despite the fact that other parents told us they didn't work well. They have been wonderful for us! When my son started to outgrow the small size, we decided to try the Miracle Blanket next. It was such a pain to take on and off and to re-wrap him in when changing him in the middle of the night. We then ordered more of the SwaddleMe's in the large size and haven't used anything else since. My son sleeps in this every night and only rarely is able to get an arm out...and even when he does get an arm out, there is no danger because the SwaddleMe is still velcroed up. I strongly recoomend this product and don't know what I would do without it!
Customer Review: Sweaty baby Summary: 5 Stars
I gave it 5 stars because it does exactly what it's supposed to and performed as promised--it's super-easy to swaddle the baby nice and tight in here and the velcro holds as it should.
But we can't use it anymore because it is HOT in there! We keep the house cool at night and certainly weren't putting any covers on him or anything, but our son was alomst roasting. However, we live in Florida, so it's never actually cold outside. I'm guessing that this would be great in household trying to keep heating costs down during a Minnesota winter or something.
Just beware: if it's not cold in your house, you'll have a very hot sweaty baby after a few hours sleeping in the microfleece version, even if he's wearing only a diaper in there. Might want to get the cotton instead.
Customer Review: Wonderful must have for those MUST BE SWADDLED! Summary: 5 Stars
My little boy is 4 months old and has been sleeping through the night since he was 3 months. The only downfall is that he would wake up in the middle of the night up to 4 times because he had come un swaddled. The blankets that are warm but thin enough to use as a swaddle were just too small and would come undone through out the night. I had seen this swaddle me pop up on amazon and say "buy me, buy me". So I did. I found the only Large one left on the shelf and brought it home. We used it the first night. Heaven in blanket form! He slept through the night and stayed swaddled! It uses Velcro instead of the weight of the baby to keep him all bundled up. Would so recommend for all those babies who just need to be swaddled. You'll love it!
Customer Review: Not effective Summary: 2 Stars
I own several of these swaddlers, all made slightly differently. Unfortunately, this one just doesn't work. All three of my babies (6-month-old triplet girls) can weasel out of it quite easily. Instead of having a large velcro area at the waist to secure the bottom half, it has just a little tab. One minor kick and my girls are out the bottom. The material is so stretchy that they can easily get an arm or two out or, worse yet, pull the thing over their face.
I recommend looking at swaddlers in person before buying. That way you can stretch the material to see if it will really be restrictive enough for your individual baby.
Customer Review: I'm so glad they make this in a large size!! Summary: 5 Stars
My baby outgrew the regular sized Swaddle Me at 2 months of age. I ordered this one and when it came in the mail I couldn't believe how huge it looked! We didn't actually use it until about 2.5-3 months since it was so big. We would fold the top down before we swaddled our son in this so it wasn't as long. At 3.5 months, our baby weighs 17 pounds so it's hard to find something to swaddle him with, and he still needs it. I hope he doesn't outgrow this one in the near future. I think he'll be one of those kids who has to be swaddled till he's 6 months old and this blanket should work.
