Baby Products Reviews of Summer Infant Secure Surround Play Safe Play YardCustomer Review: Love It! Summary: 5 Stars
After reading reviews I was worried that this wouldn't be sturdy enough. It is quite sturdy and handles my lil 8 month crawler just perfectly. I absolutely love how tall it is and how easily the gate works. I have used it opened up as a barrier to block off parts of my room and as a closed play yard. My 8 month has pulled up on it without any problem with sturdiness in both set ups. I am buying the extension kit to give her more room to play.
I have opened the play yard up and attached the ends securely to the sides of my couch, essentially making the couch part of the play yard. By doing this the play area appears to be even larger and I am able to relax on the couch while my baby plays. It doesn't feel like a baby jail when you are inside the gate with the baby.
Customer Review: Easy to use Summary: 5 Stars
I love this play yard! It's easy to set up and take down and stores flat against the wall when not in use. It's shape is flexible so it can be used anywhere that needs a specific shape. Like a small room or around furniture that cannot be moved.
My great grandson loves playing on the floor but needs protection from my 3 dogs that seem to gravitate all over him, knocking him down, licking his face etc. when ever they can reach him. Now he can play safely and still be able to see everything. I'm looking forward to taking the playyard outside this summer so he can play outside too and not fall off our raised back deck. This play yard also fits in the car to take on picnics and outings.
Very happy that I bought it.
Customer Review: This is awesome Summary: 5 Stars
I actually set this up in our living room. We had a nice size area for the baby's play stuff. It's like his own little room within the living room. He loves it. I leave the gate open when I'm right next to him but can close it easily when I need to go to another room for a minute. It's definitely a nice sized play area that you can feel secure about putting your little on in. I did anchor the play area so that even if he pushed on the sides later when he gets bigger there is no way for it to move and that is something that needs to be done with any of these type of playards whether indoor or outdoor. I hung toys all over my sons so he goes from pannel to pannel with new activities on each side.
Customer Review: Kiddy prison - For their safety and your sanity! Summary: 4 Stars
I was fully against kiddy prisons until I had twins. You can't possibly be everywhere at once and they plot against you. After a chipped tooth and a black eye, we invested in one of these and foam matting to get us through the new walker phase. It was a godsend. They had cruise handles to walk around, toys that dangled and were just content. We used it for a few months then put it away just before their first birthday (they walked very early.) Now it is our tree fort to keep out babies from touching presents and pulling/chewing on lights.
One thing was that it was shipped broken, so examine it carefully when it comes in but the replacement was here a few days later.
Customer Review: Waste Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this for my twins but they HATE being in it. Its also big and takes up a lot of room to unfold. And its too tall in my opinion. It has a door, but if you just wanted to pick your baby up, you have to go in through the door because its too hard to reach them over the side. I can see it coming in handy outdoors maybe, but its the middle of winter up here and we aren't outside that much right now. If you have a small apartment or a normal sized home, this is just too huge. If I had a 3000 sq. foot home with an open floorplan, maybe, but for my little ranch it takes up half the living room! I'm glad I didn't pay much because in a year we've only used it a handful of times.
