Baby Products Reviews of Summer Infant Newborn-To-Toddler Fold Away Baby Bath

Customer Review: Great Idea-needs improvement
Summary: 3 Stars

This tub is a great idea, but has several problems with the execution. I never had too many problems with it deflating on its own, but a couple of times the drain plug came loose (big mess!). I didn't end up folding it down as much as I anticipated either because it does take longer than I would have liked. My biggest problem with this tub though, is that after only 4 months of use it ripped along the seam, so now I need to buy a new tub. I am disappointed because this is a very roomy tub that my very large 4 month old was enjoying.

Pros:
This tub does fold down to a great size (do not have to deflate to fold it unless you want to travel with it).
Soft back and bottom so baby is very comfy.
Nice and deep so baby doesn't get cold even at larger size (my baby is 18+ lbs)
Small enough to use over bathroom sink.
light-weight

Cons: As others have mentioned it requires several steps, which require some practice.
Baby does slide around-not ideal before baby has head control
Vinyl smells
Rips!!

UPDATE:
Summer Infant has a one year warranty and will replace the unit once I send it back to them (they send you a pre-paid shipping label), but I have to box it up and ship it.

Customer Review: Excellent for small bathrooms/small spaces
Summary: 4 Stars

We used this tub for my now 19 month daughter from when she was born til she turned 17 months. She is tall (34 inches) and weighs almost 25 lbs but comfortably fit in the tub, we just stopped using it so she could have more room to explore and play with toys as she became increasingly active. It's perfect because you can fold the blue "feet" down and then it collapses to become completely flat. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I lost the instructions and couldn't figure out how to fold it in half (was hoping to take it with us when travelling but wasn't worth the hassle when I couldn't figure out how to fold in half.

It was also tricky to get inflated because the same opening you use to inflate the tub is sealed shut so you have to like bite down on it to get that seal open so air can flow inside (the only way we figured this out is by calling a friend who owned the same tub). We haven't once had to re-inflate it, it has stayed perfectly cushiony since we first inflated it.

Overall very pleased with this tub and will use it again for our next child.

Customer Review: Best baby tub, will last you years!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this tub 4 years ago. I have a small bathroom with little storage and needed something that I could easily fold and put away. I had a preemie and was concerned about getting a tub that she could easily slip in. The reclining option on this tub did the trick. When she got toddler, I was concerned about durability. This tub has lasted 4 years! No problems, no broken parts, no leaks. Yes, you have to take a few steps to fold this tub, but once you get the hang of it, it's not a big deal. I usually just fold in the legs and store it flat without deflating the bottom. I rarely have to add air to the bottom. I definitely recommend buying this tub. I love it! I just wish my daughter had not outgrown it. Hopefully it will last you 4 years too!

Customer Review: Bought it and replaced it for a
Summary: 2 Stars

I've used this tub when my son was first born. The main reason why we bought it was to save space, but what we found is it really didn't save all that much space. I also found that is was not very sturdy to hold my son up because he kept slipping down on the tubular bottom. I found that I needed to use two hands to keep him safe in the tub, therefore had troubles washing him because I could not hold him sturdy with one hand and wash him with the other. It does not have a little compartment to hold your shampoo and soap, so you have to reach outside the tub and turn your head away from the baby. We switched to the First Years Sure Comfort Newborn to Toddler Tub and my son was better supported and has a great time splashing away.

Customer Review: Baby Bathtub Fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this bath tub since my son was seven months old. He is a year old now and always looks forward to bath time. I love that it is "cushy" and I dont have to worry about him slipping or bumping his head accidentally against the sides of the tub, like the traditional hard plastic tubs. It is comfortable, so much more so than the hard plastic tubs. I especially love that the bottom is soft. I can imagine how uncomfortable it would be if I had to sit on wet hard plastic for 15 minutes. I wish they made this tub when I had my 8 year old. He has to be coaxed out of the tub because he has so much fun and is so comfortable. It also helps that the tub is light weight and easy to clean and stow. He loves it and I love it!
