Baby Products Reviews of Summer Infant Newborn-To-Toddler Bath Center & Shower

Customer Review: not ideal for infants.
Summary: 2 Stars

Has anyone noticed that the baby slides on the sling even at the lower angle? Well my infant baby slides so we hold him up but it might as well be easier w/o the sling. There's also a GAP between the sling and the tub so to prevent the baby's head from hitting that plastic we have to stuff a towel in between there every time. The sling also takes a long time to dry. Tub is very bulky too. It takes a lot of space which you think if you have space it doesn't matter right? Then consider having to scrub this big tub when your baby accidentally poo in there, which every parent knows, its just a matter of time before it happens. I wish I read the reviews before I bought it because I definately would NOT have bothered with this.

As for the PRO of the shower... is it really that good? What's the difference between using the shower and a cup to pour the water over the infant? For my baby that hates showering, the cup is FASTER.

I give this 2 stars instead of one ONLY because I am hopeful that by the time my baby becomes a toddler, I may find some use for it. Until then to storage it goes.

Customer Review: Not so great after all!
Summary: 2 Stars

When my husband and I saw this bath/shower combination, we thought it to be a great idea. After using it two times, we went out and bought the Primo Euro Bath mainly as the former was just too small. We have a two month old so we used the sling but found that there was very little space to actually wash her. As for the shower, it runs very slowly and I find the way I have to hold it gives my hand a cramp! A TIP - for all the people who have had trouble with the shower units not working after the first few times, try blowing into the 1 cm blue plastic pipe on the bottom of the motor (the part that sucks the water up) until all the water comes out of the shower head. It may be a simple case of air being trapped in the hose or in the motor somewhere. I tried this and to my delight, we were back in business. I am now using the Euro Bath (great because it is big and my girl can splash and flap around without slipping all over the show) combined with the shower unit. It works really well as I can soap her up using both hands and then rinse her off without any fuss! Hope this is of some help to someone.

Customer Review: Great tub, shower not too great
Summary: 4 Stars

We loved this tub for my daughter, it is now called a toddler bath and shower center, not sure what it was when I got this as a shower gift, but it was a different name. We used this tub for our daughter from birth until about 16 months when we finally transitioned to the big tub. It was great for all stages. The shower thing was a big hit, but it didn't last for long. It was a pain changing the batteries but we were successful, and then shortly after, while using it we heard a funny noise and it stopped working, we tryed new batteries, but that didn't work. We continued to use the tub on the counter near our sink so we could use our kitchen sink sprayer on low and that worked just as well. We eventually put the tub in our big tub and purchased a shower head that we could use the same way. We loved this tub and found that when she was a new born/infant the positioning of the sling was great and worked well. I highly recommend, I notice there is another one very similar called the 4-in-1 tub without the shower, that maybe the way to go and not waste on a shower that will break soon anyway.

Customer Review: best tub I've found, but shower was useless
Summary: 3 Stars

I've been through 2 others and now I've finally found what we need in a tub. It's roomy, easy to clean and it has a convenient handle which doubles as a hanging hook. The sling fits nicely into the tub, but it doesn't leave a bigger baby much leg room. Since mine is sitting up now we don't use it much. The thing I thought was this tub's best feature, the shower, is actually the biggest disappointment. The stream of water is a fine mist which may be good for a newborn's delicate skin, but there's no way to adjust it to a faster flow for a quick rinse or to wash suds out of baby's hair. I had better luck using a cup. It's also not very easy to hold since you have to press a button which is directly above the stream of water. The worst feature of the shower is it's loud motor. It terrifies my 11 month old to the point where I have to cut the bath short, so we just don't use it anymore. I've seen this shower sold separately. I wish they sold the tub separately because it's perfect by itself. The shower only jacks up the price and takes up space in the house.

Customer Review: Terrible Product
Summary: 1 Stars

The first time I used this product, the temperature strip did not work. I called customer service, and they promptly sent me a new one, which did work. After a few uses, the shower stopped working. We tried new batteries but could not get the pump to work at all. Again, I called customer service, and they sent a new shower to me. To make a long story short, we went through 4 showers, all of which did not work. Some would work when we first put the batteries in, but then I would get the baby all soaped up, go to rinse, and the shower would not work. The last one I received never worked. The bath tub itself is not great, either. There is an raised area that holds the shower unit, so my baby was always scrunched up at the end of his sling when he was only a few weeks old. We took the shower unit out, but because of the design, he could never comfortably lay in the tub without hitting the raised part. Summer Infant's customer service was great, but this product is terrible. My baby is now only 4 months old, and I had to go out and buy a new baby bath.
