Customer Review: Ignoring the shower attachment, it is a much better tub!
Summary: 5 Stars

We had registered for the 4-in-1 Bath Station by Safety 1st because of the size and versatility. However, when we used it, all it did was leak all over the table. We resorted to using a large bath towel under the tub so water did not go all over. After a couple of weeks, we were tired of washing the towel.

Then we tried the Four Stage Bath System by The First Years. All my baby did in this tub was slide to the bottom. We had to constantly have our hand around the baby in order to bath him. We even tried using a towel to hold him in place, but that didn't work either. ...Then there is the fact that our baby weighs over 14 pounds already at 2 1/2 months old and the tub kept tipping backward - I found this tub extremely unsafe!

So, my hubby and I looked at all of the tubs in the store and decided to try this one - not because of the shower attachment, but because of the size and shape of the tub, no possible leak points and the style of the sling. Our baby loves it - no more holding him tight for fear of him sliding too far into the water and much less water on the floor! His head is perfectly cradled by the sling and the tub doesn't try to tip over.

I have not tried the shower attachment and may not choose too at all. We just wanted a sturdy tub that wouldn't leak. We are very pleased with this tub.

Customer Review: Nothing special
Summary: 3 Stars

My husband and I were excited to find a tub with a shower attachment. I figured rinsing our baby would be much easier. Not so.
Cons: There is very little water pressure, not that I expected Niagra Falls, but so little pressure and so little water I ended up having to use a cup anyway. On top of that, the sprayer often didn't work, I finally gave up trying. And I'm not dumb when it comes to mechanical things. Its hard to get to the water with the mesh insert in the tub (although I hear lots of babies dont like being immersed in water, mine did, so that was a downer). Also, the plug keeps coming out and leaking water all over my counter. The problem is a bit less now, I just push it down a few times throughout the bath.
Pros: The removable mesh insert is great for babies who can't sit on their own yet. There is an anti-slip padding on the bottom on one side, so when the infant can sit independently for a bath, they dont slip. I put my daughter in at 4 months without the insert, she could sit with a little support of the back of the tub (she was sitting at 4 1/2 months). We're still using it at 7 months. Another cool feature is the handle - you can twist the end out and hang it on a shower bar to dry. Very cool.

All in all, the tub is fine, if you don't care about the shower feature.

Customer Review: I have just received my FULL REFUND from the company
Summary: 1 Stars

I just wanted to keep all of you posted on the progress I have made by contacting the company directly. You can read the full story that I posted on May 23 and updated twice. I have received my check today which includes the cost of the tub PLUS tax AND shipping. As I stated in one of my updates, the rep at the company told me I am the ONLY person who has ever had a problem with this tub and they have NEVER received any other complaints. Please do yourselves a favor and contact them as well. Maybe they will issue a recall of some sort and no other new parents will have to throw away $25+ dollars on a tub that doesn't work and then have to buy another one anyway.

I have justed checked their website again (www.summerinfant.com) and there is no phone number listed. Click on feedback and ideas, then click on the email address. They will contact you within a day or so. It took a little time for me to get them to agree to refund my money, but it was well worth the time spent, especially if it will help all of you get your refund too. I'm not sure if my email address appears near my review but if so, please feel free to contact me. I will be more than happy to provide you with the name and number of the person I spoke to. Good Luck. Please keep me posted. Thanks

Customer Review: Don't waist your money
Summary: 1 Stars

My father-in-law pointed this tub out to my husband and I while I was pregnant. We were all swept away with the "shower" idea. I thought it would be more soothing for the baby to be gently sprayed instead of pouring water on her. Well, the water barely trickles out of the shower head and only after you practically break your pointer finger trying to squeeze the button. If you try to use the shower head in any other position to give your poor finger a break, it becomes too awkward to hold or you end up blocking the spray action with your other fingers. The sling the baby lays on inside the tub either submerges the baby too much into the water so you feel like they are going to drown, or not enough so they sit there shivering. With the bucket that holds the water for the shower being inside the tub, it does not leave nearly enough room for the baby and ends up making her have to keep her legs all scrunched up. And after the 4th time we used it, the shower became clogged and stopped working. My husband read the directions on how to fix it and he did. It happened 2 more times and by the third time, he couldn't fix it anymore and now it no longer works. I unfortunately do not have 1 good thing to say about this tub. What a waste of money.

Customer Review: Good idea....not yet perfected
Summary: 2 Stars

I do not own this tub, but used it for a week when I was visiting my girlfriend who has it.

I was initially dissapointed I did not buy one of the new tubs with a "shower" like this one. And, although it's a great idea, when I tried out this tub at girlfriend's, I didn't find it to be as designed to hold the baby as well as others (which I've found to be SO much more important then a "shower")

My daughter was 4 months at the time, and was too big for the "net" (her legs had no where to fit) but without it, there is no recline option, just plain basin tub, which was difficult because she could not yet sit. It ended up being very difficult to hold her upright at all times while trying to wash. I was also dissapointed with the "shower" as it was diffucult to get or keep running, and was not more then a few trickles. My girlfriend said she and her husband have taken it apart and tried everything to improve upon the shower, but they have had little success with it too.

Perhaps if they improve upon the actual tub design, or make a better "shower" we could have the best of both worlds. Until then, hands down, Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn-to-Toddler Tub (or a similarly shaped tub) has my vote!
