Customer Review: Good seat, but has some flaws
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been using this to bathe my son since his cord fell off. I like that this seat has two positions, so that I could recline him while he was very small. He's now 7 months and still using it. I use this in the tub, and bathe him while keeping him warm under a continuously running hand-held shower head on him (I just don't want him sitting in dirty bathwater). Thusly I don't have any experience with this seat floating or otherwise being dangerous to a baby. There are two issues, one minor and one significant, which are getting on my nerves and I've started shopping for another seat.
Minor issue: There are only seating positions: pretty reclined, and then slightly reclined. At 7 months, he really wants to sit up, and this seat doesn't make that easy.
Significant issue: I admit, I never read the documentation that comes with stuff i buy. That said, while there may be literature on this that came in the box, I have found that this seat cover needs to be removed from the frame 2-3 times per month and soaked in Oxyclean to remove a mildew smell from the fabric. A few times I could actually find specks of mold on it. It's nasty, and it can ultimately lead to allergies. All of this despite it's claim of being mildew resistant.

Having to soak it regularly is annoying, but it's never been worse than once a week, so I live with it. This seat did work really well for my purposes - I don't like him sitting in bath water anyway. But now that he really wants to sit up in the bath, I'm looking for a new one. I would recommend it, but I am disappointed it didn't last us a little longer.

Customer Review: Best buy for on-slipping, hands free bathing
Summary: 4 Stars

I have a sling, a folding tub, a normal baby tub, and this (purchased in that order) and this worked the best for me and my newborn. The baby would slip and slide in everything else, so I could never take my hand off him. This bather allows the baby to sink a little bit in the mesh seat to avoid slipping. And the recline is great cuz babies don't like to lay flat while they're bathing, unless they're in their first month or so. You can fill the tub or use a extended shower head which is what I used most of the time as we didn't have a bath tub in our first house. The seat is probably good until the baby is 6 or 7 months old or able to sit on their own. And this bather never buckled on me. It felt pretty secure.

The cons: The metal support does rust and it's good to place the seat cover in the laundry or it will start to smell if you don't have good ventilation in your bath room.

The pros: Best bather to prevent slipping (as wet babies are very slippery) and you can actually take your hands off the baby to grab something and not worry about them sliding down into the water. It also folds down for compact storage and the cover is washable.

Customer Review: Very useful and don't listen to the negative comments.
Summary: 5 Stars

With my first son I used a reg baby bath tub. He fit in it for about 6 weeks. Then, with him in it, it only held about a cup of water. After that he went to the big tub with a spongy cushion. He didnt like laying in the water so finally, I put him in a bath tub ring which worked okay.

I said there has to be something better for my second son so I got this bath seat and loved it. I used it until he was able to sit by himself (about 6 months). He loved it too. I wanted to address some of the negative comments I have seen in other reviews. First, the bolt on the underside does rust but it is sturdier than plastic and really doesnt affect the performance of the seat (Your water has rust in it from the pipes anyway). Second, as long as you set it up securely, it will not fall down or fold up. Thirdly, I never had to put more than a few inches of water in my tub to have enough water to cover the babies legs and bottom. Also my baby never slid or slumped out of this seat.

I am expecting my third child and will definitely use this bath seat. In my opinion it is the best alternative on the market for bathing an infant.

Customer Review: Use this in the Kitchen Sink!
Summary: 5 Stars

I used this with my daughter from the time her cord fell off until she was 9 months old and her feet were hanging off the front! Now I am using it with my son. I put it in the kitchen sink. On the other side of the sink, I keep a large bowl with warm water constantly running into it and a cup. I use the cup to keep pouring the water over the baby so that he doesn't get cold. I read a few reviews of people trying without much success to use this in the tub. It never occured to me to even put it in the tub! In the kitchen sink, I don't have to handle a slippery baby, the "dirty" water is running through the seat into the sink, and I just lift him up and lay him on his towel on the counter when I'm done. PLUS, the best part is that it is so easy on my back! Standing at the kitchen sink is far easier than trying to bend over a tub. That's why I used it for so long with my toddler! I plan on using it as long as I can with my son and I consistently give it as a shower gift. It's one of the best baby products I've used and both of my kids have loved their baths from the very start!

Customer Review: It Gets the Job Done
Summary: 3 Stars

My son is 4 months old and we have been using this since he was born.

The pros:

1. My son is very comfortable in the bather and seems to like it.

2. He is able to sit securely in it without falling if I take my hand off him to grab a washcloth.

3. It is easy to wash him and his hair.

The cons:

1. It seems more like I'm giving him a sponge bath. To get to the point where most of his body would be in the water while on the bather would also be the point where the bather floats in the water. To keep it grounded in the tub the water level has to be fairly low. Only recently has he been able to dangle his legs off the bather and splash them in the water.

2. Several of the bolts on the bather have gone rusty.

3. The directions were difficult to follow. We waited to set it up until after my son arrived, so may be we were just tired, but it took my husband and I awhile to figure out how to assemble this.
