This gate is absolutely horrible. Sure it looks good and matches our furniture but it was the worst thing I have ever bought. It constantly needs re-adjusting, it doesn't lock tight, even my 12 month old can open it if only he pulls hard enough. So in other words I might as well have thrown the $60 out the window and not bought a gate at all. Same difference.
We just bought a different gate from dreambaby which is GREAT. It is not as pretty but it does what it's supposed to do. I highly advise anyone to not buy this unless you enjoy wasting your money.

Since I specifically needed a pressure mount gate with the bottom knobs higher than most, this works fine for that. However, the first one we received had a huge crack in the wood. The manufacturer was great getting us a new one though. Installation is more challenging than other pressure gates we've installed, and we're still having trouble getting it square (and to stay square) and tight. It looks great though. I wouldn't recommend it unless you really want the wood look or need clearance for the baseboards like we did.Customer Review: Nice look-poor quality control

The first gate I purchased had 2 'dings' in the wood. I called Summer and they sent out another one. One of the panels was split so I called again. They sent out another one. This one was machined poorly and the latch did not meet the wood correctly. I called again to update Summer. The customer service they gave me was excellent but their quality control is bad. In the end I kept the first one because the dings are not too noticeable and this is the nicest looking gate out there. It looks like a piece of furniture!Customer Review: Unpractical due to pressure required.

This gate arrives out of square on purpose. You are supposed to tighten the locking bolts/pads so that the top part of the frame is bent inwards until the gate can latch. I suspect this is to force you to create the right amount of pressure on either side to prevent it from moving. However in my case I ended up moving what I was tightening it against which was not a wall. If it had arrived as it was pictured and designed that way it would have worked for what I wanted.Customer Review: Great Gate

I purchased this as a baby gate, and I love it. Not only does it look great, I like the idea that the gate swings both ways and automatically closes behind you. It holds extremely tight with the pressure mounts, which is great because I didn't have to put any holes in the wall. Once the baby outgrows it, it can be left in place because it blends so well with the wood on my banister and rails. This is a really safe and good looking gate.
