After looking at a number of gates to leave up permanently, this is far and away the best looking and the quality is wonderful. The bars are very heavy metal and the closing mechanism works great. They include two extra pieces that can be used to extend the width of the gate. I am using this to confine my dog in the kitchen when I'm away and wanted something that didn't look like the standard baby gate. This fits the bill perfectly. I was so thrilled with the quality of this gate I also wrote the company a letter. Although it's marketed as a baby gate for temporary use, it's even beautiful enough to leave in place permanently as a pet gate.Customer Review: Only one I would Buy

I love this baby gate! It is absolutely beautiful and works so well. Actually, we have been using this as a way to keep our dogs in the kitchen and still be able to exit in and out of the kitchen with ease. In fact, now that we have a baby on the way, we are going to buy a couple more to put in other key areas of our home. The only suggestion I have to other buyers of this product is if you want to be able to leave the door open sometimes so you can easily pass in an out and don't have to remove it, and then use a bungee cord. You can attach the bungee to the swinging door and the base of the gate and it will keep the door open.Customer Review: Beautiful, sturdy, slight tripping hazard

Originally, when I purchased this item it was $59.99. The item arrived in a timely manner thought the shipping box was damaged in the corner. The gate was in good shape, though.
Pros:
-Solid wood
-Fairly sturdy design
Cons:
-The foot spacer is a tripping hazard
-The wall support bars may damage wall board
-The wall supports need to be tightened often
Although I have more cons than pros listed, I would still purchase this item as a pet gate. I do not think it is sturdy enough to be a child proof gate on stairs.

Love this baby gate! We have had it for several months and have not had any of the problems that others have had with it. We own a couple of the Sure & Secure Extra Tall Walk-Thru gates and love them as well. The bonus to this baby gate is that it has a look much more pleasing to look at. The wood and metal combination is great...we have actually received compliments on it! The only thing that I dislike about this product is that it is not extra tall like the Sure & Secure. Not enough that I wouldn't buy it. Can't say enough good things about this product and this company!Customer Review: almost perfect

this gate is very sturdy, and happened to match my wood floors and trim perfectly (a honey color) so it blended well into the decor. The gates were a little pricey I thought. I keep one on the doorway to my six year old's room so that his little 1 year old bro cant get in there, so it is well used and stands up strongly. It was easy to install, and it stays in the door relatively well without the mounting cups. If it's leaned on too much it sometimes shifts. They are supposed to shut by themselves, but I often put them back into place manually so that they don't slam.
