Customer Review: Great Product But Reception Can Be Static-ee At Times!

This is a great product and when I bought this camera/monitor setup two years ago it did not have a color picture, higher transmission frequency, nor could you use two cameras for one monitor and switch back and forth, as you can now and the monitor has a larger screen than it did back then. All reasons why I upgraded when the power adapter on my old monitor no longer worked to charge the monitor anymore and the warranty had expired just prior to the monitor going on the fritz. Unfortunately, the old camera was incompatible with the current model, but for good reason with all the upgrades to it described above.
The only problem I find is that I have to turn the volume on the monitor down at night, otherwise the static pops keep my wife and I awake. Turning the volume down low, however, somewhat defeats the purpose--which is to monitor the kids in the other room for signs of trouble.
We have a second camera in our daughter's room (2 years old) that does not suffer as much from the static problems as does the one located in our son's (9 months old) room. It is not due to the distance either, as both kids rooms are upstairs next to ours and equadistant to the monitor on our nightstand next to our bed.
The camera is very good for picture color in daylight and black and white at night. The infared at night is exceptional and you can see everything you would want to, even when they are not asleep and you can see their little eyes looking at you (well, looking into the camera's green light that is). The camera also gives exceptional sound quality of everything in the room. When we put our son down for a nap and turn on his Bach mobile you can hear it quite loudly even though the camera is four feet away from his crib and the volume of the mobile is on low.
All in all a good product, that I would recommend for any new parents that want to keep an eye on thier kids.
